I think it also has something to do with supply and demand of tickets. I was really disappointed in the # of Alabama fans in College Station but tickets were impossible to find under $500. You need deep pockets to make that trip without tickets in hand.

An old store owner in downtown Fayettvile said he had never seen a fan base as large as A&M on all his yeara and asked how we got so many tickets?

2) A&M (seriously, there were a frick ton this past Saturday in Oxford)

I was expecting more honestly. I guess the 2 years in a row thing might have hurt us. I didn't go last year but it does sound like we had more this year than last.

UF traveled the best to A&M so far. I imagine LSU was hurt by the fricking 11 AM start time and Arky was hurt by John LoL Smith though. There a ton of LSU grads 1.5 hours away and a ton of Hogs 2.5 hours away.

People claimed I was trolling when I started a thread saying the same thing after our game this year. You were outnumbered by LSU (not surprising I guess) and UF (very surprising). I didn't get it. I had been to Oxford for Bama-Ole Miss when y'all took over Oxford so I was expecting a full scale invasion.

Incidentally, are we only counting asses in the seats? Because I've seen a fair number of fans attend just for the tailgate at some games, even road games.

I'm talking about general number of fans in gear around the tailgates and bars on Friday night/Saturday

Well, that's not fair. Vanderbilt and Mississippi State fans are too ashamed to wear their gear in public. Doesn't mean they aren't around, just that they're crying into their beers in darkened corners.

Georgia & South Carolina should be thrown out because the numbers are skewed. A lot of rich Carolina fans buy Georgia season tickets and vice-versa.

There were double the number of LSU fans in 2012 than there were gumps in 2013.

You both missed the point and that's not the least bit surprising. But on that note, with all things equal at bowl selection time, guess who's getting the bid?

LSU fans hold their own

LSU Fans in Seattle
quote:

They've come by land, they've come by air, an they're even arriving by sea. There are more than 10,000 screaming LSU fans in Seattle for Saturday's game against the Huskies.

TCU

quote:

The last time LSU opened their season in Jerry's World, partying was beyond wild. Bars ran out of alcohol. People gyrated towels in the street. Bread was thrown at Oregon Duck fans.
TCU 2

quote:

LSU fans travel well. They seemed to occupy almost three-fourths of the seats at AT&T Stadium.

Oregon

quote:

"We have never seen this type of demand for a regular season game,"

Omaha!

quote:

"Oh yeah, we love it when LSU comes to the World Series. I don't think it's quite the same when LSU isn't here," said Steve Buchholz, a manager at Barrett's who has worked at the bar since 1989 and is known not by Steve but by Tiger.

Alabama is one of the most centrally located. Their proximity to the other universities makes it a little easier to travel. And there team is typically good which helps.
