No way they had a wide margin over the UGA / Clemson crowds.

Well, I wasn't including Clemson but yeah Georgia should have them beat but they've been pretty quiet and leaving early recently so its tough to judge them (plus the similar color).

I think he was talking about fans in general that just come to town on gameday.

I didn't notice anything different from all the other large crowds that come to Cola.

I was actually impressed at how many LSU fans showed up in 2008 given the distance.

It was really impressive, I'd say that ya'll brought about as many as SC brought this year maybe more. But that could be because they left after the game to head home, an option not really available to a lot of LSU fans.

I expect big LSU in Oxford this weekend where I'll be as well

That's every time though. Y'all bring half of Baton Rouge every time y'all play here.

1. Texas A&M
2. LSU
3. Alabama

4-14. The rest.

The Big 3 keeps on dominating.

probably due to the fact that Oxford is the closest road trip in the SEC for LSU and generally the most affordable of the closer road trips. then you can add going to tunica and beale street in memphis, it's just an easy trip for LSU fans to make. lsu fans do generally travel well to most away venues, though

Tennessee, Bama, Auburn, Georgia and LSU are the ones I've noticed, especially Bama. Auburn's traveling crowds are underrated, I think. They can put up some good numbers.

I'll have to take your word for it. Or, rather, I'll just assume you believe that and wait for someone to provide evidence one way or the other, or an explanation of the situation. I didn't list TAMU simply because I have no experience with them. I have experience with all of the teams that were in the SEC between 1992 and the second expansion last year.

There were a lot of Bama folks here this year. I think we travel pretty well especially since we now have some nice campuses to go to instead of the shitholes we have had to go in the past

i have a hard time believing there were "way more" fans. bama fans would travel to the fricking moon to see alabama play. i know a&m travels well, but i'd be interested to know how they were able to get much more than their allotment in tuscaloosa in a game like that and conversely that bama wouldn't buy out all of their allotment in college station. if there was a difference in numbers it was probably negligible

I don't doubt it. TAMU fans are, well, Texans, and they are, by-and-large, an economically solid group (the grads, at least, can't speak for the rest of the fans.) A good recipe for great traveling fans. I was just dubious at the idea of there being "way more" TAMU fans in Tuscaloosa than Bama fans in College Station. Bama fans follow their team like Deadheads followed the Grateful Dead, only with more pork and beer and less sticky-icky.
