Must be one of those A&M fans that actually thinks they run the state and not daddy. Cute.

well because it's laughable to say that lsu has contributed the most to this conference. If womens track were high up the scale of contributions, then

The fact is, football is what has put this conference on the map. Football is the face of these universities. Football is what sparks the interest for applications. Feel good threads are awesome though, love 'em. Hey guys we contributed so much to this conference, without our journalism school or our law school or our engineering program or our track team nobody would care about the schools in this conference.

And don't get me wrong, all of that stuff is important, more important than football. But football is the product seen by the naked eye by millions of people every saturday. Football represents the image of our conference portrays. That isn't debatable.

Football money is what builds journalism schools and law schools and vet schools down here

Alabama, Florida.

Then LSU, UGA have also contributed a lot but are just below Bama, UF.

Just below them, AU, Ark, Tenn.

1) The SEC is "great" because of football.

2) Alabama has the most SEC football championships (23)

3) Thus, the answer to the question is Alabama.

Florida, and it's not even remotely close.

Elite at every major sport, best academics in the conference outside of Vandy and maybe UGA and Texas A&M, etc etc.

I agree...but I think UGA, Alabama, and LSU aren't that far behind.

VAndy - better nerds but our nerds are from all over the world
UG - slightly worse but dumber broads = hot broads
aTm - very similar without any hot broads

My answer wasn't LSU. It was Florida, with a few caveats.

But I know for sure as hell, according to all the criteria laid out by the OP, it's not Alabama.

Agreed. But that's not the discussion in this thread.

BTW...We're not too shabby at that either, no matter what our own fans on this board say.

Would you say their national championships are comparable to crystal balls? Would you trade '03 and '07 in football for say 5 track titles?

I would love to win another national championship in football, but I wouldn't "trade" a track championship for one. Those players worked extremely hard to win and I wouldn't take that away from them, nor would I was to be "gifted" a national championship. I want to earn one in football.

Why even bring up that y'all have more men's titles then if all national championships are equivalent? You're just picking and choosing to make your school relevant. The fact that no one in this thread has said Arkansas besides hog fans just goes to show how much all that track prestige accounts for

Just using it as part of my argument. For the LSU fans that want to try to talk about relevance of national championships and then brag about how many they have I see no problem in mentioning that many of theirs are women's. If they want to play that game I can as well.

Oh, and just because a couple dozen people, who are fans of rival teams of Arkansas and are on what is essentially a football forum, don't think that our track championships are relevant doesn't bear much weight imo. Pretty biased sample.

Florida, although I would put our Big 6 against any top teams in other conferences
