With Kirby this past year and Muschamp and Gus getting some opportunities prior to that, who are the next up and comers in the SEC who are going to get opportunities to be the head of a program (doesn't have to be SEC) next?

I'd say that Mel Tucker was incredibly well thought of in Jax and I'm sure with s solid showing in Athens he may get an opportunity. I'll admit that recruiting is important and I'm not sure how he is at it though.

But what about guys like Nussmier at UF? He's been at some nice spots and won while there in SEC country. Is he the type that might get an offer ala Mac at UF? Get the nod at a Mountain West or AAC type school...prove themselves and then perhaps move up?

Kevin Steele - with his elite defenses I know several teams will want to see if he can recreate the success he had as HC of Baylor.

If the barn ever fires Gus Bus they can hire Daymeune Craig. He fits that job perfectly and the cash would be flowing around the plains.

Our cash will be tied up in buyouts. The smart money says it will be somebody like Paul Rhoads or Muschamp (for the 4th time).

Unfortunately one of the guys real close to it is probably Dan Enos.

Wasn't he about to be fired from his last HC gig?

Even though he is a bit rough around the edges, Pruitt has produced well and I would think he gets a job pretty soon.
Some people suggest Geoff Collins, but I'm not sure about that one

I could see Ed O leaving for the right HC spot. Enos has a shot, and as others said, Nuss might have a chance after stints at UM and UF.

Nah. They wanted him fired after his first two seasons, and eventually someone wrote an article in the newspaper calling for his termination, but eventually he got it turned around and moving in the right direction.

I may be off base, and I hope Arkansas can hang on to him for a long time. The job he did last year as Arkansas's offensive coordinator was nothing short of miraculous. Another performance like that, and his name is going to start appearing some some shortlists.

ETA: But, he WAS coaching in the MAC. So, eventually he probably would have been fired. It's too difficult to sustain success in that league. I mean, Joe Novak was fired from NIU...

He did a great job (especially 2nd half of the season.) I'm not one to pretend that a good coordinator makes a good head coach either.

Bob Shoop. I don't expect that he'll coach at UT for very long as he's looking to launch success here into another chance at a Head Coaching gig. If he's as good as advertised he'll have his choice of jobs fairly soon.

2 years tops? I can see him getting a hc gig at a smaller school or something if he does great but to say 2 years absolute longest seems a bit much
