United States Naval Academy/United States Military Academy/United States Air Force Academy.
And it ain't even close.
I might admire other programs for their football acumen and history.
But respect? Refer to my first sentence above.

Pat Hill had some good damn teams at Fresno but they always ended up losing two or three games they had no business losing.

Florida State, until the recent years. Rooting and Respecting can be different, so probably none now.

Miami. Some of my 1st cfb memories were those loaded Miami teams. My 1st live game was UT-Miami. UT lost that one but then they beat them the next year.

Currently, I respect what Michigan State has done under Dantonio.
Historically, I respect UChicago's program. Big Ten charter member that said screw this, and is now playing D-III football at a stadium smaller than most high school stadiums. Yet they have a Heisman Trophy and Big Ten championship banners on campus.

Well they traded sports for academics. Considering their current academic standing.

OU Sooners, they will rival any team in the country for having a strong history of great team.
Players like Adrian Peterson, Billy Sims,Greg Pruitt , Lee Roy & Lucious Selmon, Steve Owens, The Boz, Tony Casellis, Jimbo Elrod, Joe Washington . I may not like them, but respect their history.

I hate to give them props, but what FSU has been able to do despite not even playing football until the late-40s is pretty damn incredible.

Exactly why I respect them, for the unpopular choice the school made (at the time) to focus on academics, despite the success they previously had.
I'll echo the respect for the service academies, too. I know Army has been down for a long time, but it's admirable how Navy and Air Force remain pretty competitive at the FBS level.

Michigan
USC
Service Acadamies
Stanford
I would have included Penn State had they not had the Sandusky scandal

SERIOUSLY? No. You can't be serious. For someone so proud of your National Championship and close Natty of 2010 and 2014 and you're going to come out with this?
Look. All trolling aside, Auburn did good with Cam and Marshall. Took two troubled players in and kept them out of trouble. They ran Auburn' offense to perfection and gave the rest of us fits. But you are going to point fingers at somebody for recruiting "criminals"?
Wow. Only you.
