Simmons isn't a high volume shooter dumbass. He still had a double double with 14 rebounds and 10 assists and it's not really his or Jones' fault that Quarterman and Blakeney combined to throw up 37 shots and only make 13 of them. It was a game where two of our best shooters came out very cold and tried to do too much, it happens in basketball sometimes. It's early in the season and we're missing 2 of our best players as I said

Honest Question, how much to blame is Jones for the two losses? You seem to act like nothing is ever his fault.

Hey bro tell me more about how smart you are coming from the worst college in the SEC that requires a 1.5 GPA and a 14 on the ACT to get admitted to

Most of our players fricking suck bud and we're very thin. A coach can only do so much right now. If we had even a halfway worth a shite roster aside from Simmons, Blakeney, and Quarterman I'd probably be a little harder on him but at this point the jury is still out

Do you think LSU overachieved or underachieved last year?

The phrase is:

Incorrect use of the colon.

"The phrase: Case in point" would've been acceptable.

Thinking you can use a colon after the verb "is" in the middle of a complete sentence

We made the tournament and our record has gotten better every season under Johnny Jones. We were right about where we needed to be. It's cute that an idiot like you is trying to be condescending but the fact that we lost two games in a season opener tournament while we were missing two of our key players isn't a big deal at all. Why don't you give me your take on it?

what about bruce dragging his arse to school last year with no where near the talent that your "world class" coach had?

I actually wasn't being condescending at all. I wanted an opinion from an LSU fan. I'm not sure if it was you but I was discussing Jones with LSU fan and we both came to the same conclusion. Time will tell if Jones is a good coach.

But to answer your question, I don't think Jones is or ever will be a good coach. I think he's average to above average at best with the ability to recruit with the best of them. If he can get even solid depth we'll have a pretty good team and I feel like the NCAA tournament is such a crapshoot (see Kentucky last year) that it's hard to say how far he'd make it with an ideal team

ETA: our future teams worry me and excite me for the same reason: Jones lets his guys have a LOT of freedom and throw it around the floor and score on fast breaks etc. a lot and I think that leads to us getting a lot of momentum and shitting on teams in some games and it leads to turnovers and completely losing the momentum and blowing it at the end of some games. I personally don't mind it though, I know some people would probably prefer a different type of coach though

If he can continue to recruit well then LSU can win a lot of games even if he is just an above average coach.
I really like Anderson but I do believe he needs to step up his recruit. We are getting solid players but its hard to win now without having those elite guys.

Yea that's honestly why I like him. We're not going to end up with an elite coach right now considering how low the prestige of LSU basketball has been in the 2000's so we might as well get a guy who can give away money with the best of them and hopefully drum up some excitement for the program. I think if our AD makes a good move after him then Jones could end up going down as a guy who brought LSU basketball back from the cellar but he's not much more than that

It may be best to give this 'posting' thing a break for a while.

Jones is a shite coach but LSU is too dumb to fire him. Miles is doing fine for what realistic LSU standards are yet they are running him off. Morons.

yea man I'm so worried about how people view the random name that I created to talk anonymously about sports on the SEC rant. If you actually care if you're getting trolled online or think that it matters if you "bite the hook" then you need to get a life and step outside for a while.

I come here to talk sports unlike the weird few of you who obsessively try to make friends/be funny on here so I treat every poster as if they're serious and if you and your 17 year old friends want to circle jerk about trolling it then it's completely fine with me. Really doesn't affect me at all. I swear to god some of your lives revolve around this website

You seem salty. It's ok, the rest of us know Johnny is not a good coach.
