RSJ, Speedy, Myles Garrett, Armani Watts, Zay Henderson, Nick Harvey, Qualen Cunningham have all been far more impressive than whatever Alabama has thrown out there.

Based on performance to date. LSUs freshman class really hasn't done anything of significance against the two teams they played with a pulse. Stats against SHS and NMState are really irrelevant when everyone puts big numbers against those guys. LSUs class could move up with solid contributing performances in the upcoming SEC slate. UGa and UTs frosh have already shown their contributions against top 25 opponents and right now get the nod.

More than half of Michel's yards came in one game against Troy. Meanwhile, Chubb had a great first game (70 yards against Clemson) but has kind of disappeared after that (11 caries for 32 yards against Tennessee). Neither of these guys has received more than 25 carries on the year. Both of these guys have stat lines that are bolstered by a single game.
LF has almost 60 carries on the year and is LSU's leading rusher. He is better than Michel and Chubb by a lot.

Every fanbase thinks they have the best freshman, or the freshman who have performed the best up until this point, so there's really no point in arguing that. What I do know is that Jalen Hurd, Josh Malone, Todd Kelly, and Derek Barnett are going to be very, very, very good football players for us.

Sony Michel is riding a 155 yard performance against Troy. He hasn't done anything in the other games (second highest yard total = 33 yards against Clemson).
Nick Chubb also had one good game (against Clemson, when he ran for 70 yards). But 47 of his 70 yards in that game CAME ON A SINGLE RUN.
So let's review: Michel has a good game against Troy, and Chubb is living off a single 47-yard run. And yet, somehow both of these guys are better than Fournette, who is LSU's leading rusher.

I honestly haven't watched enough of UT this year to notice the guys not named Hurd, so I can't comment on Tennessee.
Hurd seems like a workhorse, and he is one of two freshmen RBs in the league with more yards than Fournette. His ypc is relatively low, though (Hurd: 4.56, Fournette: 5.75).

no doubt.
a lot of that has to do with us already having played Oklahoma and UGA, and him running behind an O-line featuring 5 brand new starters and 2 true freshman.

There's a pretty big variable that Fournette doesn't have in front of him on the depth chart. That variable wears number 3 for UGA.

Michel hasn't done shite against a good opponent. Chubb is living off a single run. You can't really dispute this.

Wrong. He has been extremely effective in limited touches. Had a long touchdown catch against USCe and has been effective in every game he has played. He's averaging like 10 ypc for goodness sake.

Wrong again. He just had a TD catch against UT, was very good against USCe, and had two big-time runs against Clemson.
They just don't get as many touches with Gurley there. Any statistical comparison is very flawed.

Michel and Chubb each have exactly half of Fournette's 56 carries. Michel has 23 carries for 223 yards and Chubb has 23 carries for 146 yards. When each player has exactly half of Fournette's carries it is not crazy to combine them. So in 56 carries UGA's freshmen have 369 yards and 4 tds. They also add 6 receptions for 96 yards and 2 more tds. Sorry that our freshmen rb's are more productive with the same amount of touches.
And neither have done the Heisman pose against Sam Houston State. That's Gurley's trophy.
