Robert Lane is the guy you're thinking of that we made a tight end.
I may be wrong about Mackey being tried at tight end (I haven't looked for an article on that one), but if you think I can't distinguish him and Bobby Lane, you must think I'm Ray Charles.

Someone must not have told the NFL that he didn't play wide receiver for the Rebs
Must not have because he didn't. He was our starting quarterback in 2004-2005

I'm gonna go with the white kid for now. Although, I don't think the black kid has had the same playcalls as the white kid.

I like Kincaid's athletic ability, but Bucky's looked better so far this year.

They tried to make him a wide receiver. Whatever hair splitting is going on doesn't matter. My point still remains.
Also, don't know how reputable a site this is, but it claims Spurlock also played some running back.

Point being he wasn't a quarteredback where he remained for the duration of his career. None of those guys were.
As for Mackey and his foray as a tight end, all the articles will tell me is he played between 3 and 5 different positions for about as many coaches during his time at Ole Miss. So, I can't get a definitive answer on that one. Just trust me.

He redshirted in 2010 and started at quarterback in 2011. Then in 2012 Freeze had Wallace so he moved Mackey to slot receiver but he was more of a utility player. He lined up at running back and was our wildcat formation QB. He was an incredible utility player. One of the best we've ever had.

The coaches wanted to move Spurlock to another position because he just wasn't cutting it at QB but Spurlock refused. To my knowledge he never took a snap at any position other than QB while in college. He was athletic as hell so he got a shot in the pros and took advantage of it for a while.

Race aside, they couldn't be more different. Robert Lane was like 6'3 240 pounds and Mackey was 5'10 190 pounds

Is Liggins not going to get an honest look as QB starter? Dude can throw it and is actually really nimble for his size.

Now that's the best "pick the best part of the sentence to fit your narrative" I think I have ever seen. You have a future as a shite stirring journalist for sure.

That's why he's currently 3rd on the depth chart and has barely taken any snaps this season.

I realize with you being a State fan that you follow Ole Miss more closely than actual Ole Miss fans, but neither of our backups have taken that many snaps. DK has a TD though.

why does Mullen seem to have an issue with white QBs?
Dan has used 3 mocha qbs. If dak leaves, Moffan will spread the love with a chocolate/mocha/vanilla qb race.
