A little early to say that. He could easily be third

Okay. Sitting behind Gurley and Marshall and only getting mop up duty does t make him a bust. That's my point to the poster who called out Sony to flop this year.

I think that was a joke after deeprig said Kendarius Webster. Could be wrong though.

I agree with your premise though.

Depends on how you define bust. If you are expecting him to have a year typical of former #1 overall DE's like Clowney or R. Nkimdeche, he will likely be called a bust. He has better players ahead of him on the depth chart at Bama and will be playing in a 3-4 system that does not produce a lot of sacks from the DE position. Marcel Dareus was an absolute college stud, but his stats were nothing special.

Hush. Nobody said you shouldn't think highly of him. From what I've seen, he's a great RB. People are merely observing that some fans' expectations could really stand to be tempered.

I forgot to add Myles Garrett

He won't see the field much. Not because he's a bust, but because we return 20/22 deep on defense and we have a good rotation of Dlineman this year.

Granted, but I'm just generally dubious about his skill level. Or perhaps his work ethic. It was hard to tell from the tapes I've seen whether he was just phoning it in or was outmatched, but I found his performance fairly weak in light of how highly touted he is. But I'm obviously not an expert. I'm just offering my own reaction to what I saw, and I was underwhelmed.

I could see Bo Scarbrough at Bama being a bust. 5 star tweener athlete that might not be willing to learn a new position besides HB. Plus he is a Tuscaloosa kid staying in Tuscaloosa around all his high school buddies who has been at like 3 different high schools in the last 2 years. I sense character issues, but what do I know.

besides, running backs are the least likely to be a bust. same thing with skill positions. Tackles and oline/qb have the highest margin for bust.

5 star running backs have about a 40% success rate, 40% bust rate, 20% meh

Top 5 rated players, that are rb's are about 50/50.

All from the last 10 years.

Myles Garrett. He might make every tackle, we know no one else on that defense can.

I could see Jamal Adams being a possible bust, but this is such a difficult topic to pinpoint. I will second the Lorenzo carter call. Jalen Hurd could possibly be one. He played in a private school league, and I don't remember hearing his during the all-American games. However, I said the same thing about Ridley when we signed him out of trinity, and obviously he did just fine
