will you still support him if he doesnt' make big dance next year? wouldn't that be only 1 out of 4 or 5 years in the dance?
most years u not goign to get to final 4 as a 7 seed.

brownell is a good coach. you wouldn't know that b/c u haven't played bball.
not sure why u feel need to dump on the clemson coach. lol or turn this into a Clemson vs SC competition.
i grew up in Florence, 1 hour from Cola and most of my family in Cola now. i even attended SC for a spring and summer semester, and my father did elecgtrical engineering there. so i'm not the anti-SC person u want me to be.

Brownell has been to the tournament once and that was in 2011, his first season at Clemson.

he was in tournament at least one year with UNC-W and probably Wright State as well.
hard to believe CU hired him if not.
i would like to see Brownell go with a small ball passing 3 point shooting approach. might not work in ACC but i think Clemson needs to try something different. it would at least be more exciting.

I'm talking about with Clemson. You asked if we'd be mad if Martin didn't make the dance next year because it would be one appearance in 6 years. You then said Brownell was a good coach, when he has only made the tournament once with Clemson since 2010 and didn't even get out of the second round.

that's true but look at who is in the ACC. it is a tough deep league. we been middle of the pack in ACC with Brownell. i don't view that as failure.
Clemson was in a lot of exciting close games this years with great teams like UVA and UNC and DUke. didn't win them but that doesn't mean the coach is bad and the team wasn't any good. as long as the teams are competing and have a chance to win, i'm happy with the coach, b/c it like Clemson can recruit the top players.
basketball recruiting is much tougher than football and baseball and other sports for Clemson, where we have some selling points vs other programs, like warmer weather
look at basketball, non p5 programs like gonzaga and vcu etc can recruit good players. in football, non p5 schools basically have no shot at winning titles.

For the record I don't think Brownell is a bad coach, but it's hard to get marquee players to play basketball in the State of South Carolina with Tobacco Road right next door.

Clemson has a guard out of Columbia coming in next year. he is only 3 stars but he still had 20 universities offer him around the country.
looking at the list of his offers, Clemson appears to offer no advantage over at least 10 of them.
