I was talking to a sorority girl the other day who had been to an LSU game in TS. She happened to mention it smelled like corn dogs. I thought she was joking at first then after further conversation came to realize she was dead serious and made that conclusion on her own. She had no clue about the corndog joke that many people use about LSU. It was pretty damn funny

Purportedly quipped from some Auburn writer who stated LSU fans all smelled like corndogs. Actually came from some other fanbase mocking the Nebraska CORNhuskers but "A" for effort and originality AU!

Here is how this came about:

About eight years ago there was a "flaming" contest on message boards between Iowa and Iowa State fans.

Since corn is the state's main agricultural crop and Ames is closer to Des Moines than Iowa City, and the Iowa State Fair takes place in Des Moines, some witty Hawkeye wrote a post entitled "Why Iowa State Fans Smell Like Corndogs" which became an instant classic in the state of Iowa.

Within a month or two, some frustrated Auburn fan looking for an angle picked up on the Iowa piece, changed the title to "Why LSU Fans Smell Like Corndogs," added a few references to Louisiana and posted it on his message board.

So the proper response is "I'm not a Cyclone fan"?
Good deal and done.

Love me some corndogs

Enjoyed eating one and flaunting it after the Bama game last year in Tuscalooser. Too bad I couldn't do the same on 1/9. Oh well!

You really don't know?

Corndogs- a longtime staple of Cajun Cuisine- were brought to Louisiana long ago by the Acadians (AKA "Cajuns") when they settled here from Nova Scotia.

LSU fans are proud to have this nickname as it shows great pride in our Cajun-French history.

At least corn dogs smell good. Barn fans smell like a 4H rodeo..a smell that permeates through their campus so strongly that they become unaware of the stench of wet hay and cow patties

Iowa State, Nebraska, ....it doesn't matter.

Some Auburn retard just plagiarized a joke and the rest of the idiot fans of the SEC started repeating it because there really is nothing to make fun of LSU fans about.

If auburn really did come up with the corndogs line, it would be the most significant thing they've added to SEC football in their history other than Bo Jackson.

That's not correct. Or at least not from 8 years ago.

The first time I saw the corndog story it was on Tiger's Lair(now Tiger Roar or something like that) around 2002. A link to Wayne's Board had it. An Auburn copied and pasted it. A few Tiger fans that were on Tiger's Lair found the original story. It was about Nebraska fans but it was posted by some other original Big 8 school's fanbase. Mizzou, Oklahoma, Iowa. I can't remember but I honestly think it was Mizzou.
