Don't forget he's not 20, he's 24 in his 6th year. I haven't watched anything but highlights all season and I'm sure it wasn't his best game, but he didn't look like an NFL starter last night at all. Even some of his completions were back foot hail mary's that he was luck on.

The one throw he missed an open WR up the middle by throwing it to his outside so far the WR missed it, and the throw should have been inside. It was off by 5 yards or so.

The pocket wasn't that bad last night for a championship game, gotta do better than that.

Penix is good, but he's throwing to 3 NFL receivers, who make him look better than he really is. Washington was a bad match up for Texas; safeties were not fast enough ... too much cushion.

The Michigan DB's were the difference last night. Smothered the receivers for the most part, and Penix didn't have time to look around much.

Washington calling a run to the right with a left handed QB on 4th & Goal was a horrible call. Yeah, it's the last thing they would expect, for good reason.

I think Penix can be a serviceable NFL QB, but there are better choices.

2nd or 3rd round

Most probably. He's shown that he's prone to getting hurt and has problems facing a rush.

Anthony Richardson got drafted first round with more bad games than Penix. I really don’t think last night will hurt him.

It's clear that MANY of you didn't watch Penix during the regular season, that game last night wasn't the worst game he's had last season.

Texas had a bad pass defense and a ton of people overreacted to that performance.

It was very clear to anyone who knows ball that Michigan was going to win that game by 10+ before they even kicked off.
It's true our secondary was a liability in a few games, but they didn't play badly at all vs UW. In fact they had pretty good coverage on several passes Penix dropped in where only his receiver could catch the ball..and they did when it mattered. In fact I'd say the semi-final was one of the better games our secondary has this year and probably worst for the D-line which has been our strength. Penix has an off night against Mich, but he has accuracy that is unmatched by any other QB this past season.

Idk if he can hold up 18 games in an NFL season, but he would be a solid backup.
Agreed. I can see him having a Tyrod Taylor type of career, which is not bad in the slightest.

But NFL teams probably aren't going to pickup a guy in the first 45 picks so he can wait until his 5th year to start any games.

So why is he like 27th in pass completion percentage?

He did not look good last night but has great talent.

With some coaching I’d say second 3rd round.

1st round. Worst performance of season occurred last night.

That was definitely not his worst performance of the season...

He has some flaws in the way he throws the ball per scouts

His motion is worse than Tebow's

He reminds me a lot of Deshaun Watson. Yes there are flaws, but he has been a winner his entire career. Probably a second or third round prospect physically, but I think he'll have a solid career wherever he lands if he stays healthy.

There will be a lot of QBs taken in the first round this draft and Penix will be one of them. My guess is mid-round and about the 4th or 5th Qb taken.
