What makes Vandy, UT, and UGA all a tier above UA?

Alabama, historically is the 2nd or 3rd best program in the conference overall.

Arkansas, Florida, and LSU all have FF/NC to their name, but Missouri also goes here by having 3rd most NCAA appearances behind UK and Arky.

Where is this NC for LSU you speak of??
Oh yes...How could I forget?? The 1935 American Legion Bingo championship...I mean Legion Tourney Title.

I think they're right outside of the three basketball powers - UK, Ark, UF Next comes Alabama, UT and LSU. Programs who can be good but don't really have any basketball prestige.

Your order is wrong IMO.
LSU- 12 SEC titles
'Bama- 8 SEC titles

'Bama has won more SECT titles.

LSU- 4 Final fours
6 Elite Eights
9 Sweet Sixteens
Also LSU produced 3 of the NBA's 50 greatest players as picked by the NBA HoF panel.

ETA; Fading memory.

The SEC has one basketball team that will always be great, and 13 others that are only good when they have great coaches. You can win big at any of them with the right coach and 5 players, but trying to rank the "programs" of the other 13 is pointless.

You've got to remember that 80% of these little butt-monkeys weren't even born before 1990. The "big-bang" occurred around 1950.

What was Florida before Donovan, and what will it be after Donovan? Let's be honest. If Donovan leaves tomorrow the Florida program means nothing more to a high school recruit than LSU, Bama, Tennessee, Georgia, etc. There are only about 10 programs that matter in college basketball. The other 200 are constantly up and down depending on who the coach is.

Really? Wasn't Fla. basketball started around 1920? How would you rank them from 1920-1990?...70 years of the 95 years they've been playing?

Because for 70 years, nearly 75% of Florida's existence, they were irrelevant in basketball, yet people aren't willing to look at Alabama's history past a couple of decades...does that seem right?

listen catfan

We have a better gorgeous fresh arena, better recruiting base, better hoops fans and most of all are located in the beautiful basketball country of the carolina's. This is where Duke, North Carolina, NC State, Wofford, CofC, Wake Forrest and South Carolina are located.
