I only read posts from fans of teams that have actually beaten Arkansas recently.

Some can...some just can't...no matter how bad they want to.

(and we all know LSU just doesn't care)

If it involves a team that went to the Liberty Bowl it isn't that big. It was exciting, and crazy, but not ultimately that significant historically.

Run Lindsay Run. That was a historic play.

It looms very large as it lead indirectly to a NC for Alabama.

But there are other indirect plays that had the same result.

1. Ok State missing a FG, putting Alabama in the NC game.

2. Notre Dame kneeling the ball playing for a tie in 1966.

3. 1953 - Notre Dame's fake injuries against Iowa.

Just before half and again at the end of the game, Notre Dame players faked dramatic injuries to stop the clock when they were out of time outs. They scored with 12 sec in the half and 6 sec in the game to escape with a tie and ultimately win the NC. This is the start of my true disgust with that school. See account below on ND board and they all still laugh and think it was wonderful instead of just crappy sportsmanship.

4. 2009 Mt. Cody's two blocks of Tennessee field goal attempts to allow Alabama to ultimately win a NC.

There are others. 4-25 is historically important, but it didn't directly lead to the NC. I will always be thankful however, and hope that God smiles on Arkansas for that play, and for Coach Bryant.

4.

Seeing that play again in a gif reminded me of just how incredible it was. I thought that game was OVER right before that, and was leaving the room when that happened. When Arkansas got that first down, I finally allowed myself to entertain the thought that Alabama could win out and be in the SEC championship game...it flickered into my brain the whole night, and when we beat LSU it became more of a reality.

How in the world would it be ahead of plays that actually won something meaningful for their team?

Just for example, I would definitely rank the Statue of Liberty play with Boise vs. Oklahoma for a Fiesta Bowl win as a true underdog higher.

While improbable it wasn't the last play so it doesn't make the top ten unless it's in the hearts of Alabama and Arkansas fans

If it hadn't happened, we would have found a way to somehow lose to LSU or State. A WAOM moment was inevitable. Congrats on your big play though.

I don't think it belongs in the top 10.

It is, however, a solid candidate for #1 in the list of WAOM Moments.

We would've lost in Starkville at minimum probably by double digits

A, C: True
B: most likely False. Losing to Memphis probably takes care of this after they then lost like 3 straight. Even winning the SEC Championship and splitting the series with UF probably puts Stanford or tOSU in the 4 spot (in that scenario, I see Iowa dropping more... as it was, 5 was a nod to the undefeated regular season).

Overall, probably a top 10, unlikely to hit top 5. The Michigan/Michigan State play is definitely ahead of it.

People forget about this play but I have never laughed so hard and felt sorry for so many people at the same time

Which was worse?

a) 4th and 25

or

b) Treadwell breaking his leg on the go-ahead touchdown in the Auburn game, thus fumbling the ball and icing the game for Auburn.

I personally think (a), though the Treadwell injury was a Rube Goldberg sequence of unfortunate events; karma came full circle with the Auburn center snapping the ball into himself against Texas A&M and ofcourse the 2015 Auburn football season.

4th and 25 gifted Arkansas literally the only thing positive thing about their 2015 football season after falling well short of the pre-season hype. But I guess it was all worth it to see this little guy smile before he comes to terms with the unfortunate fanhood that he was obviously born into.

It would still rate below Billy Cannon run on Halloween. How is that not on your list?

I have to agree it's pretty high up there.

That one play changed the whole CFB post-season landscape.
Ole Miss would have gone to Atlanta. Bama possibly to Sugar, and the whole playoffs would have been different. tOSU may have won it all or Clemson....

The play should be ranked up there pretty high because it's the best definitive proof that God does get involved in the outcome of college football games from time to time and he obviously doesn't want Ole Miss in the SEC Championship game for some reason.

This illustrates the power of prayer. The prayers of the populace and the wishes of God converged. Thank you Lord for saving us from the inhumanity of Ole Miss in the SEC CG and the resulting never ending chaos of bourbon-drunk crowing and polo-shirt chest-beating...though drunken ole miss coeds are another matter entirely.

Because:
a. How improbable it was.
b. It kept Ole Miss out of Atlanta and the playoffs.
c. It allowed Alabama to win the national championship.

You're selling ole miss short. It kept ole miss from winning the SEC. They would have curbed stomped UF the second go round.

by auisssa

4th and 25 will be a forgotten play at the national level by next year.

Why? Just because YOUUUUUUUUUUU proclaim it to be so. ??????????
You things never cease to amaze me....yeah, luck didn't play ANY role in your team's back-in to Atlanata. None....

You would think its the most significant play in Arkansas football history judging from the number of posts about it made by hog fans .....
