I submit it ranks in the top 5.

Because:
a. How improbable it was.
b. It kept Ole Miss out of Atlanta and the playoffs.
c. It allowed Alabama to win the national championship.

1. "The Play": Stanford vs. California, Nov. 20, 1982
2. "Kick Six": Alabama vs. Auburn, Nov. 30, 2013
3. "4th and 25": Arkansas vs. Ole Miss, Nov. 8, 2015
4. "Hail Flutie": Boston College vs. Miami (Fla.), Nov. 23, 1984
5. "Miracle in Michigan II": Michigan State vs. Michigan, Oct. 17, 2015
6. "The Miracle at Michigan": Colorado vs. Michigan, Sept. 24, 1994
7. "Bluegrass Miracle": LSU vs. Kentucky, Nov. 9, 2002
8. "McMahon's Hail Mary": BYU vs. SMU, Dec. 19, 1980
9. "Statue Left": Boise State vs. Oklahoma, Jan. 1, 2007
10. "Miracle on Markham" LSU vs. Arkansas, Nov. 29, 2002

4th and 25 will be a forgotten play at the national level by next year.

I guarantee you that less than 15% of college football fans know what "4th and 25" is, or if you said "hey, what happened in the arkansas ole miss game this season" would they actually know. That number plummets when you leave the southeast.

In 5 years, only ole miss and arkansas fans will remember or even care about that play.

If its 3rd then the immaculate deflection needs to be up there somewhere.

I do not really remember this one. Also there is no way that Hail Flutie is not #2. Flutie and The Play are basically tied for #1.

Seems a lot of Hogs are obsessed with it. That's just about all they post and talk about. But it's a play that didn't really do more than get them to seven wins rather than six. And that's the reality: without that fluke, Arkansas would have been a 6-6 team. Hitching your wagon to something you prevented another team from doing on a fluke rather than something great you accomplished on an elite level is second-rate. But whatever floats your boat in Hogville.

4th and 25 ranks higher than Kick Six simply because Auburn squandered their chance and Alabama did not.

For its ramifications it has to be a solid #1. Because it didn't directly involve the team that went on to win the playoff, however, it won't be remembered by as many.

like the 5 turnover game vs bama.

well we didn't need 5 turnovers we just needed that play and then your dumbass defender grabbing ba's helmet.

i'm not sure if everyone realizes but that game was nip and tuck all the way, the result of the 4th and 25 wasn't worth 28 points.

Ole Miss would not have made the playoff with two losses with one of those to Memphis. Stanford or OSU would have made it in.

It also didn't win Arky the game. If they had thrown an int the next play no one would remember this play at all. The others on your list were game enders in I think all the cases

What? It has nothing to do with our win total. Ole Miss would of been in Atlanta. I get that its annoying that a couple of Hog posters bring it up all the time but don't act like it wasn't a big deal for Ole Miss.

Because it toppled a champion. Ole Miss isn't a champion just a flash in the pan.
