LSU did cross the 50 in the NC game against Bama. How did that rumor get started?

LSU didn't finish a drive past the 50, which is true, turned into that.

Because it was one play by a yard. Was pushed back on a penalty the very next play. It wasn't memorable enough to matter and 'didn't cross the 50' is damn close enough to accurate and captures the gist of the game despite you pushing up glasses and nasally proclaiming "Well, technically..."

I'm just wondering because I missed the game and have heard varied reports on the matter.
