That made me spew my coffee. (But I thought it was Project Chicken Choker)

It'll have to be a future hall of famer ... probably Saban or Gruden, but who knows. We can pretty-much pick and choose whomever blows our collective skirts-up when the time comes.

What about Bill Snyder? He could use the OBC's walker.

Its South Carolina. They probably couldn't do better than Ruffin McNeil. Not bad, but no excitement. Landing Spurrier and Holtz on the way out were flukes.

Ummmmmm .... well, lemme think for a minute. Give me just a minute if you will please. :::::: long pause ::::::
OH, I GOT IT!
1 - Because he is a Gamecock, played his college ball here. Met his wife here.
2 - Still has a lot of friends here.
3 - A chance to compete in the SEC.
4 - More money.
Now, that's the answer to your stupid fricking question.
Here's the rest of the story for everyone except the fricktard immediately above.
We love Mark. Love it when he comes home for charity golf tournaments or to speak at functions or whatever, but he's going to retire at MSU and we're happy for him. He had that heart attack a couple of years ago and it's probably too late in his career for him to make another career move. So we'll continue to be a big fan of his, but the window closed for Mark to come back here when we dissed him in favor of Spurrier ten years ago.
Remember, when Rick Minter left Cincy to join the SC staff under Holtz, Minter famously told Dantonio (who replaced Minter at Cincy) that he'd see him in a year or two at SC when Holtz retired.
Well, he was right, Holtz did retire two years later and while Dantonio was waiting on the call from Mike McGee ... McGee went-out and hired Steve Spurrier. A year or two later MSU hired Mark and everything worked-out for the best.
Mark is perfect for MSU.
