My gut tells me that he's been told he could be Saban's successor or he's vying for Mark Richts seat in the future while having a relatively safe position attached to Saban.

It's weird though that you don't hear anyone going hard after him for a head coach position.

I think people have made runs at him, but have been told it is a waste of time.

Then again, he might be another Chavis. He had several opportunities to be a head coach but simply was not interested.

Why in God's name would Freeze demote himself. Ole Miss is currently the better program, and nothing indicates that's changing anytime soon.

one game. one game. and this is how you feel? hugh freeze can't wear nick saban's socks pal. and your "program" is about the 8th best in the SEC. Ole Miss has Never played for the SEC championship. sure, y'all won one over 50 years ago, but never since a championship game has been added. maybe you should visit y'all's operations office and read the friggin' trophys. there are NONE dated later than your birth and most of those trophy's are for ties or runner up crap. you sir, are delusional.

Because no big programs have offered him a HC job. Plenty of positions have opened that he would be an ideal candidate for and yet none offered.....Auburn, Florida, Ole Miss, aTm, Arkansas, Kentucky, etc.

I'm shocked he is still at Memphis. Something must be wrong with him. Maybe he farts uncontrollably or has bad breath

Only way Richt leaves UGA is if he retired. He is only 55. Heck, he may win the SEC this year.

Arkansas should go after him. He would do wonders for that program. Too bad they are stuck with Bert for another 2 years.

True. Very true. Nobody wants to be the guy that follows a legend. The pressure and demand is too great and if you don't win at the same level you get pushed out quickly and people know this.

If Foley had offered him, Smart would never have arrived in Gainesville as Foley would have been fired immediately.

Jimbo Would be good as would McElwain. I think Freeze could actually win champioa ships at a premier program like Bama. He would keep the recruiting goi g.
