2009 sugar bowl bama got their shite pushed in by Utah. They've been beaten since but I know even y'all can't excuse this one away so 2009 sugar bowl is my entry as the only time bama ever lost

All I'm reading in this thread is that about once a year Saban's teams go into a big game and beat themselves. When Alabama only plays 2 big games a year, that's a bad trait to have.

Kicking 40 yard fgs and missing isn't leaving points on the board. Nfl kickers aren't automatic at 40+ yards.

Generally speaking the team that makes the fewest dumb plays during the game wins. If you make more dumb plays then the other side and they win... guess what? You lost. They beat you by playing better then you did.

Good teams make their opponents make mistakes. If your team beat itself, it's usually because the other team pressured yours to make the mistakes in the first place.
