Looking back, do you regret the Cigar game and Tubbs decision to let the guys smoke on the field? after that game we vowed "never again" and so you have gone winless in Death Valley since 99. That's a hell of a long time and I hope it continues for another 13 years at least.

Meh, I dont think its cursed us per se, your team itself probably has no recolection of what "cigar game" actually even means. it's more of a fan thing.

Part of the reason why its been that as well, is we were so close for the next few years that the home team hype helped win the games, then we had the BBQ bunch start cooking, now we are recovering.

It hasn't, Auburn is a much better program than R-Kansas, not even close

I would say Big 4...put Au in there. Au did win a NC.

It was when all 4 coaches were hired. Great coaching.

Wrong, there is a reminder in the athletic building that says "Never Again, This is Our House" with this picture below it

Currently, there is a Big 2. Hopefully, very soon there will be a Big 3 starting next year. Arky had a chance to make it a Big 3, but sent that opportunity skidding off into a field.

Look dude.

I'll break it to you as easy as I can..

Auburn just doesn't matter. You had your 1 year where you came out of nowhere because of a certain player, other than that.. its total irrelevance.

THIS

But they are in denial.

I'm sure it is taken seriously by some of the whiny fricks in your fanbase...the same ones who laugh at the Saints taking pictures in the Ga Dome. But the LSU players don't give a frick about some old guys smoking cigars on a field when the player was 5 years old. Get a clue. They want to beat AU because it is a Western opponent, and it is their home field.

So you have personally talked to the current players about the cigar game? Please tell me which players, just so I can note it

Arkansas has put together back to back 10 win seasons, Auburn hasn't done that since the late 80's.

No one takes Gene Chizik seriously, he's still the Iowa State coach, just had a once in a lifetime player for a season.

I'd love to know the definition of that.

I have personally talked to people inside the program and as a previous poster noted, that picture still hangs in the Ops building and is talked about when Auburn comes here every other year. Apparently the players in general already dislike Auburn more than the average western opponent anyway (not sure why) and the players who didn't already know that story get some extra juice from it.

I'm agreeing with you about what the fans think. I'm saying you're fricking delusional if you think Les Miles and 18 year old players are fuming about what some players under Tommy Tuberville did when playing against Gerry Retardo 13 years ago.
