Also just in case no one remembers LSU played UGA in the 03 SEC title game. God I would be embarrassed if I was an Ole Miss fan.

fortunately for you, they don't give out banners for abbreviating the word "second".

Winning the SECw is a big deal these days... Just like winning the East back in the 90s was a big deal... People who have never won anything of importance in sports in their lifetime don't understand this.

Exactly this.

Winning an SEC West division title is more impressive than winning most conference championships.

Honestly winning the SEC barely means anything to me unless Bama also wins the National Title.

Because the big 12 is secondary in stature and level of play to the SEC. Just the reality.

Stop title shamming bro.
It's 2015. If you got it flaunt it.

I don't recall it ever happening in my younger years, so why is it happening now?
There weren't 2 divisions back then, genius

I'm sorry, the first SEC CG was in 1992, a whole, whopping 7 years after I was born. So let's just assume the definition of "my early years" means "from when I was 7 until I was in my 20s". Does that work for you?

So when did it become acceptable to celebrate division championships? Is this a result of the West winning 6 SEC championships in a row? Since the East hasn't won a title in what feels like forever, the teams have to find something else to brag about?
Penn State has a banner in Beaver Stadium celebrating a 'Leaders Division co-championship in which they shared with Wisconsin in 2012 (who they lost to btw)
oh how the mighty have fallen..OSU would never celebrate a Division Championship with a banner.

You asked why it didn't happen before and I told you. Deal with the facts and your age as you wish.

It is a thing for teams that don't have much else to brag about.
I can kind of understand it for teams that made it to the SECCG; but the Ole Miss 2003 thing is just flat out pathetic.

No one cares about winning the division save for Mizzu, Vandy, USC and KY fans. See anything they have in common?
