Bama is screwed the first time they play a good DLine. Holding on every play has covered the bad OLine up for now.

Has BAMA played any team with a defense with a pulse?
Technically, W Kentucky has more of a pulse than any of those three coming up, and USC has as much or more than them, so not too worried.

Hell, Kent St. is ranked higher than Arky and aTm.

Don't ask a question if you don't want to hear the answer.

I'm thinking 3-1.

I have it on good authority that SaBear plans to throw the LSU game in hopes that Coach O is retained as permanent HC

Gumps always drop to the level of competition, giving Nicky fits. Then they get pumped for a real game and decide to fire on all cylinders... which has been the story vs LSU for the last 10 years.

I suspect a look at their stats for the last 5 years will show their best games (season-to-date) were against LSU...and decent LSU teams at that.

Amazing how they consistently bring their best performance against a non-rival team.

Good thing we don't matter.
Good thing we don't get your attention.
Good thing we don't scare you.

I will answer the question. Alabama is better up front than many think. When Bama has chosen to run the ball they have been able to do so.

A shame Henry isn't still there. Many times he would get hit by an end or blitzer coming from outside, and that won't happen with Hurts back there. He is something D Coordinators have not had to face when playing Bama. You have to account for the QB now in the running game and that opens it up for everyone else.

What you have been seeing except for the Ole Miss game is Bama getting as many reps in the passing game for Hurts as they can, getting ready. When they lined up against UK and decided to ram it down their throats for a short time in quarter 2, the Mildcats had no answer.

So in a nutshell. pick your poison. Load the box and deal with all those receivers and a mobile QB who will pop out and hurt you if you try to rush him, or play soft and get gashed.

Our last two trips to LSU were both bad games for Bama offensively. Just went through the motions until we decided we wanted to win.

So far, Bama has relied mostly on its athletic abilities. Haven't seen a really clever X's and O's game plan yet. We don't have an overwhelming running game like we have had in the past but Hurts running ability has provided just enough of a wrinkle in the offense to make a difference. The non-offensive touchdowns have been key so far. I'm not sure if these kids have a strong enough identity yet that if everything else fails, what is the one thing we can do offensively to win games. I guess we will see when those defenses arrive.

I was starting to get worried that LSU fans were too down on their team, but yesterday just couldn't have worked out better. LSU is so much more fun to beat when their fans get their hopes up.
