I have a reason to hate almost every major university. However I have a soft side for Oklahoma state, both of my parents went there.

1. Any of the three service academies that play football ( )
2. Georgia Tech. The fact that they can field a (sometimes) competitive team despite having difficult academic qualifications is impressive.
3. Florida Atlantic. Sure the team stinks. But you're three miles from the ocean and in south Florida. Plus you save dolphins.

I like watching the middies and zoomies do well. Can't say the same for West Pointers.

Nice, I first started liking them a few years ago when they had a playoff game in that stadium and it was 16 degrees and just dumping snow. And the place was packed.

Kansas State. I've started to pull for them since I got stationed in Manhattan. They're a land-grant school and have a strong partnership with the military.

I don't really have a favorite team outside of the SEC, but I always like to see Virginia Tech do well

Not surprising since the Morrill Act required, alongside instruction in agriculture and "the mechanic arts" (what today we call engineering), training in "military tactic".

A&M and VT have maintained the closer ties with the military (both being Senior Military Colleges) but your land-grant schools still have the historical link.
