John L Smith was a terrible move.

What always bothered me about that is that Arkansas could have gotten a decent coach at the time. I mean it is an SEC coaching job. They could have offered a 3 year deal to their top choice and just explained that the deal was what it was and if he said no then go to the next guy. Smith was like admitting that the season was going to suck so lets just stick this guy in there to get us through it.

Didn't he bring back Rammer Jammer? I remember him at an alumni meeting getting praised for it. I think it was him

We switched too, although it was largely because Pepsi bought Gatorade.

Basketball is easy. Frank Haith and his Miami mess came to Como. Followed closely by Quinn Snyder. Suitcase Mike, a distant third. You're watching it on the court today.

Football - Woody's frickin' wagon and Bob Stull are tied. The bleak years.

Mizzou Administration - Babs Uehling, Chancellor. She almost had Mizzou in Div. III. It always starts at the top, gentlemen.

It's still far too dark for my tastes. We should have built a new facility, sort of like Auburn's. I'd rather have 10k in a 10k arena than 10k in a 15k arena.

Steve Sloan stopped it in the 80's if I'm not mistaken.

Bockrath brought it back in 96, then ran Stallings off and hired Dubose. That guy was a Grade A idiot.

-hiring Curly
-hiring Smoke Laval
-approving the design for the Pete Maravich Center. it's pretty nice inside and not a bad seat in the house, but the exterior looks like a gigantic UFO

But honestly the worst decision of all was hiring Andrew Sorenson as President. His hiring set all the bad things for the next 10 years in motion. That guy HATED athletics, and it wouldn't surprise me if he hired Bockrath solely to sabotage the athletic department. It sickens me that his signature is on my diploma.

I thought for Mizzou it was some female president in the 80's that de-emphasized football.
