I don't know why you would unless you claimed he has won everywhere he has been.

Recruiting- He recruits basketball as well as Saban recruits football.

I also think he deals with the kids egos as well as Phil Jackson did with the Bulls and Lakers which lead to like 11 championships.

I think his game planning is pretty good but not superb which is why he can't succeed on the NBA level. In college he wins with superior talent. He can walk into your living room and talk future first round picks into playing his system. Majority of college basketball players will never play in any kind of pro ball after college. In the NBA talent is nearly equalized in some manner. You do not get the great luxury of picking and choosing who you want. Planning a game with your personnel is key to success.

Great recruiter, knows the pulse of what drives the elite HS talent, does a great job at developing new ideas that enhance the talents of those players, and isn't afraid to tell the NCAA how he feels about them.

As far as X's and O's, he is not an elite coach. Better than average but not up there with coaches who get everything they can out of the talent they have. But practically every school in the country would take him as their coach. If they say they wouldn't, they would be lying.

Best coach out there. The "greats" according to rant pale miserably in comparison. There is a direct relationship if you care or are capable of having good sense.

I don't know much about Calipari, but I know he's Italian and that just doesn't sit right with me.

I call into evidence a post supporting my opinion...not in the way you might think. The post gave me a belly laugh.

Not serious, right?

You really think his dribble drive offense is predicated on excellent xs and os?

Now that is a laugh.

His main job is to get one and done players drafted. He has publicly stated this many many times.

Don't think the dribble drive offense harkens to being a great coach. He is great at teaching defense however... and that may be the better of the two.

He seems to value players with weak knees.

Yes. Any data to support otherwise? Xs and Os are part of that.

Not in the sense of the statement that was made.

Its called context.

He wasn't referring to an offensive system, or his ability to teach that system, more so the ability to draw up plays.

Do you realize how Wooden was so successful? Any clue?

Totally new concept. Have never considered that for any head coaches; football, basketball or baseball.

The easy answer is having Kareem, Sidney Wicks and Bill Walton as your centers for 6-7 years really helps.

The correct answer is Sam Gilbert.
