Missouri gun season on deer only lasts 10 days. That is terrible.

Crystal bridges is not in fayetteville, it's a good 40 min drive from fayetteville. I currently live here and cannot wait till may when I get to move back to BR. I would do Missouri over this place. Hunting I hear is good but better in Missouri from coworkers. Plus taxes are high in arkansas. Alot of people live on the Missouri boarder just to avoid living in arkansas. Fayetteville does have a good theatre and small theatre and get pretty good plays here but concerts never come home. There's decent food but nothing like Louisiana.

Yep.... South of Springfield is a real nice area.... very scenic.

Let me revise your subtle but clever troll...South of the Missouri River from Jefferson City, MO down to central Arkansas is incredibly beautiful.

40 minutes is not a very long drive. Most NWAers consider NWA to be one metro so when we talk about living here we include everything in Fayetteville, Springdale, Rogers, and Bentonville.

Doesn't matter how long it lasts. We have the biggest bucks and within 10 - 15 years will also have a large population of elk.

Put that in yo pipe and smoke it, brosephina!

Plenty of days for bow hunting. Just don't want to pack him up and down the hills after the kill.

Arkansas already has elk. Suck that, Missouri.

...and to add to the statement above, when you look at the proximity of NW Arkansas to even larger metro areas like Springfield, MO and entertainment destinations like Branson, MO, Table Rock Lake (MO), and Eureka Springs, AR, you have about everything you need within an 1.5 - 2 hour radius.

It's bad enough hitting a deer with your car...can you imagine hitting an elk on the interstate at 80 mph?

People will die.

Yep, if you're in need of meth, Missouri is a short drive away.

If you honestly think Baton Rouge is a better place to live than Fayetteville, then you must be a crack dealer.

Oh stop with the meth bullshite. It's overblown. Missouri takes meth crime seriously which is why our state show a larger number of meth busts when compared to other states. It's because we are actually busting methlabs rather than allowing them to produce and distribute. We're proactively tackling the problem unlike other states.

Plus, you don't even see meth people. They're hiding out in some shack down some forgotten gravel road that no one knows about, constantly looking out their window blinds or checking their video surveillance paranoid that the impending bust will happen at any moment.

The meth thing is incredibly overblown. Missouri is a great place.

Springfield has been Missouri's fastest growing metropolitan area for a long time.

If you don't see it or can't find it...does it exist? Sort of the tree falling in the woods scenario.

Trust me, Arkansas has the same issue, except your law enforcement doesn't care.

It has changed a lot since I went to school there in the 70s and 80s. It has grown a lot and has a much better road system since then. You are not very far from good hunting if you want to hunt in OK, MO, or KS. I've hunted Eastern KS quite a bit and you are not far at all if you like to hunt in that area and you can make pretty good time going up through Western MO.

If I was moving into the State NWA might be my pick over the LR area--they'd both be in my top 2 or 3. Lots of good restaurants and stores and good school systems. Lots of "newness" in the area. Plenty of recreational opportunities as well. If you like to fish or canoe/kayak you'll have plenty of opportunities nearby. Pretty windy and they do get some snow compared to the rest of the State but their road crews are better prepared for it when it happens.

On ideology yes you will find more liberal people around the college as you might expect and in Washington County generally which is much different when you get north of there in Benton County.

When I went to school there they had a short deer season if they had one at all and I didn't hunt any of the WMA's nearby. I know there are many more deer in that area now.

What a god-awful name for a museum.

When I hear that name I expect to see a girl with daddy issues start pole dancing to "She's Got The Jack".
