As Bert said... sometimes you play a kid and realize a game or two in that he just is not ready for this level of play.

Now sure, we will all game this system, but at heart it does make sense. Every year we see players who get playing time as freshman but it is quickly evident they are not ready. Put them on the shelf for the rest of the season and let them mature.

I agree in principle but 4 games is a bit much. That's a third of the regular season. I'd reduce it to 3 games but the bowl game doesn't count towards the 3.

I'm all for it. But a RS in in some garbage time against an inferior opponent and who knows they might blow it away.

Either way, valuable playing time.
