Sorry to interrupt everybody's trolling. New rule would allow redshirted players to play in up to 4 games without burning the redshirt.

Seems like most coaches support it. Malzahn, Saban, Mullen have all spoken out in favor of it.

Gets the redshirted guys some reps in cupcake games. Allows some injured players to redshirt.

I like it. I also like the idea that they can play in bowl games no matter what.

Gives those kids more of an opportunity to gain experience and gives them more fuel to be ready to play even if they are going to get redshirted.

And, like you said, gives me leeway for injury redshirts. No downside to it IMHO.

I don't know that there is a reasonable argument against it.

I'd just give them 5 years of eligibility and eliminate the redshirt entirely, but those proposals would be fine too.

In that case, I'm against it.

I think it should be made effective immediately.

I agree in concept, but think 3 is a better number than 4.

Gives Saban another way to out-manipulate the other coaches. I'm for it.

Give those kids whatever they want, remember they sweat and are the slaves of this day and age and also they get no benefits whatsoever from being on the teams.

So how is it decided upon? Does it go to some kind of vote?

I'm all for this. Great idea.

maybe they should just decide to not play college football. watch the NFL create their own minor league system instead of allowing the colleges to do it.

ever see how much minor league ball players get paid?

Isn't there some kind of league starting up in Florida? I remember hearing about it on ESPN radio about 3 months ago.

Whatever happened with that?
