Floyd will be gone. Maybe Jenkins. Theus could theoretically.

Houston will likely be back at RT. I think either Kublanow or Wynn will play center and the other will play LG.

A bunch of freshmen will play at receiver and on defense, especially at ILB and DB and probably one or two of the DLs too.

Floyd can't go...He's a true sophomore this year (correct me if I'm wrong).

Could be 11-1 or 6-6. 2015 will be the day (year) of reckoning for Butch to see if he can live up to the high expectations he's setting for our program. We return most everyone, but qb and ol are big ???'s. Defense should be nasty though, other than AJ and Coleman, we return basically our whole 2 deep on D, and have a monster DL class coming in. If our offense can be decently productive, watch out.

He can go since he played a year at prep school. He'll likely get a first round grade

Gotcha - I didn't realize he played prep school. Oh well, don't see much drop between him and Carter.

Simply doing a rotation does not negate the effects of losing someone like Smith on the dline......if it helps you sleep better, fine.

Really hard to tell.

The secondary should continue getting good, though I expect Collins to leave if he grades good enough. Losing a good bit of experience in Nick Perry, but Geno Smith will be a SR next year in his spot. The corners have a ton of talent, so it's really getting them in the system.

OL should be stout, though losing Arie will be tough to replace. Austin Shephard won't be easy, but I think the guy backing him up is already pretty good (Dominick Jackson) so I think OL will be okay.

RB should be really good. Yeldon is a JR, but I'm not sure he'll grade high enough to leave; if he doesn't, all of our tailbacks will return. We do lose Fowler; not sure who we'll get that will work in his spot. Vogler is our better blocking TE, so while Howard will be in a bunch of formations anyway, when we need to go into the bigger line setups we'll need someone to step in for him.

Losing DePriest and Dickson in the LB corps will probably be the toughest, so our hope is that Foster and Anderson get into the system, and that Ragland or Lee will be the "Defensive QB". There's some growth needed there before that is probably going to be the case.

All in all, we should actually be pretty good. Sims graduates, and Coker and Morris are the QBs in waiting, but it would not surprise me that Barnett comes in and takes the job. I could easily see Barnett and Ridley come in and start immediately, with Sims and Cooper leaving (baring an injury, my assumption is that Cooper declares early for the draft).

So... short story long, we should actually be pretty good next year, depending on WR play, the RT spot, and LB leadership. All other aspects should be pretty good. Yes, I'm aware our QB graduates, but I figure we either have a SR who has at least a decent bit of playing time (Coker), a really talented incoming freshman (Barnett) or Morris, who is unlikely to start based on the competing talent.

Every single team in the SEC will be better. Have your forgotten this year's preseason already?

Is Golson guaranteed the left tackle spot? If not, you will have a unhappy player on your hands.

Referring to my depth chart above, I feel that the defense will be better, even if Floyd jumps to the NFL. Carter is a freak as we've seen at times this year. The main reason I feel the defense will be better is because we will be in year 2 of Pruitt's defense and the DB's will be much improved and more experienced with more depth.

Offensively, Ramsey will be a huge upgrade over Mason. As far as running backs, you can't replace Gurley but UGA is in about as good of a position as anyone with the combo of Chubb, Michel and Marshall. The only factor that will keep UGA from being as good as this year's team is youth factor.

Current Two Deep Returning

LT - Kyler Kerbyson / Dontavious Blair
LG - Marcus Jackson / Dylan Weisman
C - Mack Crowder
RG - Jashon Robinson / Austin Sanders
RT - Coleman Thomas / Brett Kendrick

WR - Marquez North / Josh Malone
WR - Pig Howard / Jason Croom
WR - Von Pearson / Josh Smith

TE - Ethan Wolf / Daniel Helm

QB - Justin Worley / Nate Pete or Josh Dobbs

RB - Jalen Hurd / Marlin Lane

On offense as you can see we return 20 of 22 in our two deep and 10 of 11 starters. Bring in 5* WR Preston Williams to add to the elite talent there, Alvin Kamara stud JUCO RB and some solid OL talent. Two 4* QB's will be added to the QB race in January and I think we will see Josh Dobbs win that competition and he will have a VERY good year.

On defense, returning players in bold:

DE - Derek Barnett/ Cory Vereen
DT - Jordan Williams / Danny O'brien
DT - Traverises Saulsberry / Owen Williams
DE/LB - Curt Maggitt / Chris Weatherd

MLB - A.J Johnson / Jakob Johnson
WLB - Jalen Reeves Maybin / Dillon Bates

NB - Justin Coleman / De'Andre Payne

CB - Cam Sutton / Eman Mosely
SS - Ladarell McNeil / TK JR
FS - Brian Randolph / Evan Berry
CB - Michael Williams / Malik Foreman

The D loses 3 out of 11 starters one at each level but returns 19 out of 22 in the two deep. Combine that with bringing in two 5* DT's and a bunch of other great DL and DB's and this defense looks ready to be nasty for years to come.

I've said all summer this year would be tough for Vols fans because we will be so close but not be able to truly see the return, but I have also said 2015 will be an explosion back on the CFB map for the Vols.

Look for a 9-3 type season and with the East having a ton of turmoil I won't be surprised with the Vols being in Atlanta as the East Champ.

The schedule is much better having UAB, Oklahoma, North Texas, WCU, Arkansas, UGA, SC, Vandy all at home. Only having Bama, UF, Missouri and Kentucky on the road.

Probably 9-3 ish.

If we keep all of the pieces we have committed right now, plus add a few defensive targets we are after, we will have a talented (but young) defense.

2016 will be the year we should see the results of our recruiting classes on defense

Yet as a JR, you had no fricking clue who he was. He got no preseason honors of note. No hype. And we were going to suck up front this year without Autry. And Boyd before that. And Cox before that. And McPhee before that. Rinse repeat.

At some point, you've got to accept the fact that we develop pretty elite DL under this regime. We are rotating through 5 DEs right now with 2 more that are redshirting, one of which has pretty elite potential.

I think with getting experience these young players get it done next year and we win 11 games and defense will be a different animal

So Bama loses 2-3 OL, , TE, QB, 3 starting WRs including Cooper, possibly Yeldon... If Yeldon goes.. that's 60+% of your offensive production and points. Same situation as LSU this season.

That D better be salty especially if Drake doesn't come back 100%

Return:

WR - Laquon Treadwell, Quincy Adeboyejo, Cody Core, Markell Pack
RB - All of them, and add Akeem Judd who's red shirting
TE - Evan Engram, Jeremy Liggins
OL - Laremy Tunsil, Aaron Morris, Ben Still, Justin Bell, Fahn Cooper, Robert Conyers, Rod Taylor, Daronte Bouldin

DE - CJ Johnson, Marquis Haynes, Fadol Brown, John Youngblood, Channing Ward
DT - Issac Gross, Robert Nkemdiche, Woody Hamilton
LB - Denzel Nkemdiche, Christian Russel, Demarquis Gates
CB - Mike Hilton, Kendarius Webster, Tee Shepard
S - Trae Elston, CJ Hampton, CJ Moore, Chief Brown
Nickel - Tony Conner, AJ Moore

Punter and FG kicker are both freshmen.

Key losses will be:
QB Bo Wallace
WR Vince Sanders
DT Bryon Bennett
LB Serdarius Bryant
LB DT Shackelford
CB Senquez Golson
FS Cody Prewitt

Overall we'll be slightly better, I think. We will desperately need one of our freshman QBs to step up.
