Can you tell me another starting DE in the SEC that put up similar numbers to Carl Lawson? TIA.
2nd team All SEC DE Robert Nkemdiche had 29 tackles, 7 TFL, 3 Sacks and 7 QB hurries in 11 games
Carl Lawson had 17 tackles, 3 TFL, 1 Sack and 11 QB hurries in 6.5 games (and was injured all season anyways)
If you extrapolate to 11 games like RN, that is 29 tackles, 5 TFL, 2 Sacks and 20 QB hurries for Lawson
That is despite 5 of Lawson's games being against Bama, Ole Miss, TAMU, UGA, and UL. The first three have 1st RD draft grade OTs
But you know facts and stuff

So he did half as well as a player who was high on spice all the time, congratulations.

You mean he did pretty much exactly as well as the All SEC guy who made your OL look like they were back in pop warner?

Reasonable response.
This is pretty much the heart of the discussion to me. It's not whether or not he may be an elite talent, but simply that he hasn't shown enough on the field to justify the type of hype given.
Simply provided them since someone requested. Definitely agree that per game stats can be skewed, particularly if a guy is trying to "play through" something.
With that said, can tell you from experience that Garner is not one to often get maximum production out of the d-line... 15 years at UGA and most of them somewhat lackluster from a developmental standpoint. On the upside, he's recruiting really talented guys, so it may make up for the deficiency there. Will be interested to see how 2016 goes for you guys with some big matchups.

Carl Lawson hasn't played enough snaps to deserve even 50% of the hype Auburn fans give him. He looks freakish when healthy going up agianst guys like Laremy Tunsil, but you can't justify best DE in the country based on 5 career healthy games

Carl Lawson had 5 solo tackles and one sack last year. You're not gonna convince anyone that he is good, stop trying.
Good DE's don't have one sack in 5 or 6 games or whatever it was.

Carl Lawson and Robert Nkemdiche definitely belong in the same sentence. Great parallels there, actually.
Two of the most overrated players of my lifetime, for sure. At least Carl had a big play in a meaningful game for Auburn.
No idea how RK still gets all of his hype.

Exactly.

A guy that had a productive freshman year and played half of another year is not one of the most overrated players of your lifetime. That's a clown statement.

Just so I know what kind of football intellectuals I am dealing with here please answer the following question.
Do you really believe Carl Lawson is not an elite talent? Yes or no answers is all I require. Thank you

I do believe Carl Lawson is an elite talent. I do not believe Carl Lawson is an elite player.

Fricked us up real bad with those 3 whole solo tackles against us. His highest output of the year.

Tuscaloosa thinks the game is played in the box score.

I cannot provide stats to justify him being an elite player, but watching the games when he was in and how much more improved we looked is all I have for now. I wouldn't be surprised if the stats support him being elite and a high draft grade to follow this year.
His durability is definitely an issue and something he must overcome this season.
We will be having a different discussion following next football season is my opinion.
Until then it really isn't worth arguing over so I will hang up and listen Paul.

He had 2 solo TFL against us. They were good plays. We rushed for 215 and passed for almost 300. Over 500 yards of total offense.

Not sure if stupid or trolling. For his sake, I hope trolling.

He's not trolling and now that he lives more than a mile high in Colorado his brain is deprived of oxygen, and he has gone off the rails a lot more.
