The last time Auburn held Georgia to 20 points or less was in 2008, when Georgia scored 17. Before that, 2004, when Georgia was held to 6 points.

Georgia always scores a ton of points against Auburn.

Georgia's offense was terrible by late last year. They rotated QBs so much you'd have thought Gus was coaching them.

Understand that was meant more as a joke... as it tends to be the go to of some Auburn posters here...

In terms of the Auburn UGA matchup, 2008-2014 =/= 2015. I think you underestimate the power of the Lambert. 09/10 had AJ Green on campus and lighting it up and 10-13 Aaron Murray at QB.

2015 - Lambert at QB, Chubb out for the season, and Brian Shittenheimer as OC.

Again, might say that the game was an outlier, but if Tech and Mizzou (and Ga Southern in regulation) can hold us to under 20, I'd expect an Auburn D with elite talent in some positions should do the same.

Tech - 13
Southern - 17
Florida - 3
Missouri - 9

So, Auburn was pretty par for the course there

I'd be happy with par for the course with our defense

That's fair, had forgotten IMac had returned it all the way for a TD rather than just getting good field position. Maybe it means good things for 2016? Hopefully Steele can build on what Boom must have had going late in the season.

Also, one of those FGs came after Auburn fumbled the ball inside their own 20. UGA lost 4 yards on the drive and hit a FG from the 21.

Did you actually watch the game?... auburns defense gave up exactly one TD to Georgia (after a TFL on 4th down was wiped out by a face mask penalty)... There were no "TDs" last year.

Auburns defense gave up 13 points to UGAs offense.

Meh, no additional credit given. Just the nature of football. If we all played "if this then that" with games that are in the books, we could figure out a way that we win the NC...

Carl Lawson is not the best defensive end in college football, healthy or not.

Well, for starters Rodney Garner hasn't been a decent DL coach in years. Also you have a head coach who doesn't really place much emphasis on defense and instead tries to think of 6 more ways to hand the ball off out of the shotgun up the middle for a 2 yard gain. Add it all up and it's pretty clear to understand.

Try and catch up sparky... already acknowledged that one of our "TDs" was from special teams.

More ITTT logic...

Either way you slice it, the Auburn *team* gave up more points to UGA than Missouri, Ga Tech, Ga Southern, and Florida, and if we eliminate the ST touchdown it's still only tied with Tech and behind Missouri and Florida... One of those defenses is not like the others.

Adams and Lawson both start. They just suck.

Lawson hasn't played enough to be the best DE in the country, but he has been great when he has played. Unfortunately, he's played snaps in like 1% of AU games since coming to Auburn

Every Snap of Carl Lawson vs Laremy Tunsil. SPOILER: Lawson takes Tunsil's lunch money

And it still won't mean shite until Lawson can average more than 2 tackles per game. He's another guy getting by on name recognition and hype. Amazing.

Ok. Now I am curious, because I honestly don't know. How many tackles does Lawson average a game?

I forgot that Auburn also only gave up 17 to Mississippi State.

I don't like Kevin Steele and don't think he's a good coach, but there's talent in Auburn. And if they continue to build upon last year, Auburn could be better than people think.

It ain't gonna take y'all long to find out!
Seriously, you'd better hope that Watson doesn't destroy any confidence that they may have gained with their last few performances.
