I forgot about the MSU-Auburn hostility. Ole Miss and Alabama are just very civil towards each other, and always have been for the most part. Maybe more so than any other annual opponent we have

Arkansas and Tennessee have deep mountain sides to barricade not to mention vantage point over attackers. The capitals of the East and West would be placed here.

Arkansas also has access to Ole Miss, MSU and LSU via the Mississippi river which probably all would form an alliance and trade.

East would attack by Sea and the West by land.

Arky would be boarded up in a house tweaking on Meth and peaking through the blinds thinking we're all out to get them

Ole Miss sides with LSU and Arkansas. They don't want these two coming from the North and South to invade via the Mississippi river.

LSU would lose half its troops right before the war heats up, through bar fights, doing drugs and the like.

Texas A&M would send their troops to lay siege on Austin.

Alabama troops would be sent wherever the fighting was lightest.

Ole Miss would be irrelevant "until next year, when our recruiting class will come of age."

Arkansas would look great on paper at the beginning of the war, but then would lose its brilliant general to a case of VD, and its whole battle plans would fall apart quickly.

Georgia would go all the way to the final battle and lose, again.

Florida would hole up in Gainesville and tell everybody that "they will be joining the battle shortly."

Tennessee would be short of volunteers enough to muster an army.

Most likely....
Auburn
LSU
Florida
State
Tennessee
USCe

vs.

Alabama
Arky
aTm
Georgia
Kentucky
Ole Miss

I'd say that Mizzou and Vandy stay at home and watch. Vandy out of self preservation, Mizzou out of fear. They try to stay neutral, but are under the threat of being provoked by Arky(Mizzou) and Tennessee(Vanderbilt).

I'll just follow this start.
Auburn and UT join LSU, seeing a chance to usurp Bama.

I'm with you up to this point. And I think you're mostly right. But I'd offer a few revisions.

Ole Miss would join Bama, and bring Miss State in on the LSU side. But A&M stays out of the fight initially - like Missouri, they don't really feel they have a dog in the fight just yet.

quote:

UGA joins Bama because they don't want to see Auburn and UT prosper. They are joined by VU and UK due to their antipathy towards UT.

USCe joins the LSU alliance to oppose UGA.

Yes, and then Arkansas joins the Bama side to a)suck up; and b)find an outlet for their inferiority complex to LSU.

And I don't see Florida as the power broker - instead, they officially remain neutral but operate as privateers, supplying both sides under the table to keep the conflict going. They use the distraction to annex parts of Georgia, Alabama and Louisiana for recruiting purposes.

Missouri and A&M watch from the sidelines, until Saban places a call to his old teammate Pinkel. Then Pinkel calls Sumlin, and they put in a request to TBirdSpur, currently stationed in Whiteman AFB. TBird appropriates a stealth bomber, brings SoCalMiz out of retirement to fly it, (with TBird as copilot) and they end this thing. Like. A Boss.

Oh, and on the way back to Whiteman, they bomb Lawrence, kansas again, just for kicks and grins.

Following the conflict, Arkansas and Tennessee supply enough moonshine that everyone forgets what they were fighting about in the first place. Ole Miss then invites everyone to a detente celebration at The Grove, where there is live music, USO entertainment provided by the LLofSECr, and a BBQ contest with competitor teams from each school. The NCAA sends the new selection committee to judge this competition, no one agrees with their findings, and the whole thing starts all over again.

UGA would likely remain neutral at first. A war will likely start between either Bama/Auburn or Bama/LSU. Either way, an Auburn-LSU alliance would happen soon after due to their mutual hatred of Bama. Miss St sees the chance to sock it to Auburn and sides with Bama. UT also joins out of spite for Bama and forms the Triple Entente with Auburn and LSU. Florida sees a chance to crush Tennessee and LSU in one move, and Muschamp is once again Saban's toadie.

Ole Miss wakes up to find the Grinders embroiled in a war and, naturally, join the opposing side. A&M, being A&M, nukes the Longhorns and is itself wiped out by the nuclear fallout. UGA initially opts to remain neutral, citing the costs of waging a war, but upon Florida joining Bama's coalition, puts their problems with Tennessee and Auburn aside. Seeing UGA and Tennessee allied with one another and fearing their new position found position in the East in jeopardy if Tennessee returns to power, SCar joins Bama's side. Arkansas joins Bama as well but no one really notices. Missouri attempts to join Bama's alliance first, then Auburn's, but is turned down by both. Vandy is too busy studying to notice that shite is going down. Kentucky ponders entering the war but decides to stick with what their good at...basketball.

TL;DR version:
Bama, Miss St, Florida, SCAR, and Arky vs Auburn, LSU, UT, UGA, and Ole Miss

A&M acts irrationally and kills themselves, no one wants Mizzou, Vandy and UK sit out.
