I can't really say I'll miss anything about the Big 12.
The majority of Aggies who were old enough to remember the old SWC miss that, but we really don't miss the Big 12. It was a conference we were forced into, not one we joined willingly.
Frankly, if we had our way, we would have followed Arkansas in 1991...but that steaming count Ann Richards intervened.

Tech is a pretty special school I don't think they still have to bring the riot police to games though which is good. I have a couple friends who went to grad school their and they took the A&M stickers off their cars

That's one thing that I think is really good about the SEC. The Texas mentality does not fly in the SEC, regardless of how successful a program has been. It's toxic.

I'm a baseball fan first and foremost (have football and baseball season tickets), and although the quality of baseball will be better in the SEC, the one thing I'll miss about the Big XII is the baseball tournament in OKC. It's not very well attended, but if you can take the week off to go, you can get a hotel room at one of the downtown hotels and OD on baseball, food, and drink, all within walking distance. OKC really has a sweet set up for tournaments.
For those of us who grew up with the SWC, there is simply nothing nostalgic about the Big XII. A little nostalgia might arise from the in-state matchups, but not much. Won't miss going to Lubbock.

+1. It's different for Missouri, they grew up in the Big 8.

I'm hoping that despite the fact that a lot of the SEC rivalries are so old and that we can be sort of cliquish, that both teams will be able to find a niche and create something that is fun and nostalgia worthy like the pre Big 12 days.
LSU and Arkansas are a good start for A&M... Mizzou might take some work.

Older fans have already done the BR trip. But for younger ones, time permitting, you definitely have to find some good cajun dishes.

Nebraska fans are generally the most well-liked fans in the Big12.
I agree with this, I was absolutely shocked by how kind they were the first time I went to a game in Lincoln wearing my Mizzou gear.
I went to 76 LSU/NU game. A classy fanbase. I guess it's just cultural and it hasn't been lost.

The day that the Big 8 let Texas in the conference is the day the clock started ticking for those Big 8 schools with options being a part of that charade.
Moving HQ from Kansas to Dallas sealed the deal.

Wow. Didn't realize they were that bad.

I've had fan friends from tons of SEC schools go to Tuscaloosa for grad school with stickers and no one ever had any trouble. Heard a few stories about BR, but that's to be expected.

I will miss Missouri and their fans, oh wait, they followed us to the SEC. I will miss nothing. You guys cannot understand the snake pit we just escaped from, thanks for the life line.

Had the bonfire scaled down and moved off campus after the tragedy or had it ended altogether? If it hadn't ended, will people miss all of that?

I will miss absolutely nothing about the Big 12.

There hasn't been an official A&M campus bonfire since the 1999 collapse.

While I welcome aTm and Mizzou I will find it hard to think of them as SEC brethren. Heck, I am still not used to SC and Arky for that matter. Though I have come to love Arky and SC and I am sure I will come to love our new additions as well.
