What will make Bama great this season?

"The same things win that always won. We just have a bunch of different exuses when we lose" - The Bear

but that being said, he are a few things that make this particular bama team "great"

1. DLine - Bama has its deepest DL in the Saban era. Jesse Williams and Damian Square are returning starters while Ed Stinson, Quinton Dial played significant snaps in every game. Jeff Pagan is a talented young guy who saw playing time last year and is now two years removed from a knee surgery. Add man-child LaMichael Fanning to that group (6-7 298), who is probably the most impressive physical specimen on the team, and you've got a scary two deep.
2. AJ McCarron has proven he can beat a great defense, He knows it - therefore, he will be more confident - and other teams know it. Teams will be more hesitant to stack the box to defend the run. For years and years when teams have played alabama their top priority has been to stop the run. AJ McCarron makes defenses account for more of the field.
3. OLine - most talented OL, maybe ever.
4. speed at the LB position. this years version will be a bit smaller than their predecesors but they are faster. Adrain Hubbard is gonna remind anyone of Upshaw or J.Harris, he's got a different skill set than either of those guys

In my opinion we did have speed last year. Mosley is fast. Nico isn't as fast, but he's definitely now slow. Harris was quick, not fast. Hightower ran, what, a 4.6 at the combine?

CJ and DeBeast have nice speed for LBers, and Nico will be about the same as last year.

I agree with Hubbard. I think he'll be a better pass rusher then Upshaw, and he's better in coverage too. Dickson will be an alright pass rusher, pretty good in coverage, but I think he'll shine in bringing down edge runners when Williams stuffs the dive plays every single time.
