At minimum a 10 win season and SEC East title.
Until that happens there's no way you can argue Tennessee is legit again.
Going from like 5-7 bad to 8-5 mediocre is a step, but not exactly fear inducing.

Winning the SEC would certainly do it. 1998 was a long time ago. 16 seasons without a championship.
A 10 win season with a win over Alabama (the 2012 Texas A&M model) might do it.
Winning the East and getting drilled by the West in the SECCG (the Missouri model) probably wouldn't be enough.
