I mean a 10 win season would do it for sure. But mainly how you play the big boys. Arkansas has bad record last year but definitely got my attention with how they played bama and auburn and how they finished with lsu ole miss and UT.

Snap the 10 game losing streak to Florida, win the East, at least play the West team close in the SECCG, and a good bowl win. If all those happened I doubt anyone could really argue Tennessee isn't back to where they should be.

Honestly the Oklahoma and Florida games will tell a lot. If Butch still can't beat these two rebuilding teams with his roster, you might as well cut your losses.

Remember when UtK fired that guy? One of the best coaches in SEC history, a year removed from an SEC East title and a 7 point loss in the title game (Johnathan Zenon is still terrorizing Eric Ainge's dreams), and Tennessee fired him for Lane "Singing Rocky Top All Night Long When We Beat Florida" Kiffin.
