I like how Bama fans shite on Shula yet it's because of him that the turn around wasn't horrific.

I am currently stationed on the 6 MM at the Lake of the Ozarks. I was stationed in Kings Bay and Bremerton and did shore duty in Charleston.

The one that pissed me off the most was losing to Southern Mississippi in 90 or 91. They had this quarterback named Favre. frickers.

Memphis in 96 was the worst.

Can you imagine all the #OurState nonsense from Tiger High if social media was around in 1996

I was just commenting on BowlJackson's post. He was the one calling Utah an awful loss not me.

Losing to a mid major is bad, period.
See Georgia vs. Hawaii for an example of how the team representing the SEC in the Sugar Bowl should handle undefeated mid-major teams.

I don't know how that could be a "worse" loss ever. For one, they had Favre. And also, So. Miss was often a good team in the 90s and seemed to always give at least one major team a fit every year.

Without question 9-6. Bama was at least 21 points better than that team.

You know how we make jokes on here about programs being a dumpster fire? Well Bama in May of 2003 was this:

The whole damn dump was on fire.

You had to fire your HC in MAY under the most embarrassing set of circumstances thought possible until Joe Pa was ousted. Bama was far far closer to the death penalty and the fate of SMU than even sniffing a return to national prominence. You guys hit the lottery coming up with Shula in MAY under those circumstances. Arkansas had to replace Petrino in April and had to settle for this:

Shula was able stabilize the program and leave some semblance of a foundation for Saban to even consider wanting to rebuild Alabam.

I know you've had a lot of fun since jumping on the bandwagon in 2009, so enjoy it while it last because Saban is getting old and once he's gone somebody going to go poking those embers and getting that old dumpster fire raging again.

Well bowl jackson, you just maybe get the chance to hire him to replace Gus

I take it since you are a big Panther fan, he's on your first hire list? Please reply

If next May Gus gets caught with a fugly dried up stripper named Destiny, then considering the timing how could I possibly get mad at getting an NFL Offensive Coordinator that already has HC experience in the SEC?

Mike Shula's considered an NFL head coach prospect actually. Not that he deserves to be. The main reason why is his name.

But there are a surprising number of terrible CFB head coaches who later get NFL head jobs. See Cam Cameron, Dirk Koetter, Marv Levy. Yeah I know Levy was a success as an NFL head coach. But that doesn't make his stint at Cal any less shitty.
