Bert's been tryin to tell all you silly HS offense boys that you gotta get some Time of Possession to let that defense rest and prevent injuries...or gettin embarrassed.

0-1 start. Probation looming. A full SEC West schedule staring you in the face. It must suck to be Ole Miss.

It's going to hold us back at times, sure, but we can compete on a more frequent basis doing what we're going because we can't recruit like Alabama to maintain a conventional smash mouth offense.

It's the reason Arkansas will never win more than 8 games while Bielema is there.

Not quite. We jumped out to a 21-0 lead on Alabama back in 1989 only to lose 62-27. I figured you would have heard about that one.

Gary Hollingsworth, iirc. I remember that game. I don't think was as much of a "collapse" because everything happened so early.

In all honesty, I'm not sure last night was a "collapse" as much as it was a defense that was completely gassed before halftime.

Most sensible Ole Miss fans saw this:

- not enough depth and inexperience at DB or corner positions leading to soft coverage

- Jimbo making play call adjustments to take advantage of soft coverage with two step drop passes for 8-12 yards a play

- 1 minute, three and out drives plus turnovers by Swag leading to zero time for our defense to rest. Even our two deep at DL were gassed by end of 3rd quarter.

- Florida State is more talented.

Ole Miss is still a top 10-15 team when clicking on offense as you saw in the first half. Florida State just handed the rest of the SEC the roadmap to beating us though. They basically did what Florida did to us last year without the steroids.

This is exactly what happened.

The 4:0 turnover ratio in favor of the opponent loses the game 97% of the time.

our play calling for too conservative in the second half.

too conservative? maybe it's that you called 3 running plays the second half and 11 the entire game (i'm not counting scrambles by Kelly as running plays), forcing your defense to be on the field for 45 minutes. Your longest drive of the game was 2:32 This is what being one dimensional does, and it hurts even more when that one dimension doesn't run the clock. Trust me, I know all about one dimensional offenses

Hugh Freeze kills his defense running up tempo 100% of the time

Fold Miss.

I didn't get enough credit for this in the other thread I used it in.

She's a porn star and an FSU fan, and Chad Kelly tried to get with her and she busted him publicly.
