What the hell happened last night, Ole Miss?

I just had to listen to my Uncle Toby on the phone bitching for 20 minutes straight about the game. And, for once, he didn't even blame the refs.
I'm not saying you screwed the pooch, I'm just saying Fluffy wasn't pregnant when we dropped her off yesterday evening.

We don't have DBs or safetys and our play calling for too conservative in the second half.
And Florida State is better than us.

That second half was atrocious for ole miss

Might be the biggest, most sudden, ridiculous collapse I've ever seen. They Ole Pissed it away like never before

Too busy scouting out new banner locations at halftime?

Defensive backs weren't a problem in the first quarter, when your pass rush was eating FSU alive. If your offense doesn't find a way to give your defense a chance to catch their breath, this is the way several games will play out this year.

Most sensible Ole Miss fans saw this:
- not enough depth and inexperience at DB or corner positions leading to soft coverage
- Jimbo making play call adjustments to take advantage of soft coverage with two step drop passes for 8-12 yards a play
- 1 minute, three and out drives plus turnovers by Swag leading to zero time for our defense to rest. Even our two deep at DL were gassed by end of 3rd quarter.
- Florida State is more talented.
Ole Miss is still a top 10-15 team when clicking on offense as you saw in the first half. Florida State just handed the rest of the SEC the roadmap to beating us though. They basically did what Florida did to us last year without the steroids.

FSU took over on both lines of scrimmage in the second half. That was the main reason for the collapse.

Land Sharts took a massive L

If I give you Uncle Toby's phone number, will you call him and talk about these things? I suspect Aunt Taltie is going nuts dealing with him, and she graduated from OM too.

What happened to Tony Conner last night? Is he injured or something? He looked awful

This is spot on. Have to establish a run game and eat some clock to keep the D fresh. Abandoned the run way too early.

I actually turned off the game when Ole Miss went up 28-6 and went to sleep. I said, "I've got to get up too early tomorrow, and this game is over". Apparently, Ole Miss had similar thoughts.

Bingo. We were on the field WAY too long defensively. We got conservative on both sides of the ball when we went up 28-6. Defense with the soft coverage reminded me of Memphis and Arkansas from last year then the two turnovers on our own 32 and 10 didn't help either.

They said he was 90% but there is no way. He looked more like 50%. He's been battling that right knee for a long time now. He can't make lateral movement. He was left behind multiple times last night with just one quick step in either direction.

Ya'll should have heard the Florida State radio announcer last night. The dude was hating life the first half. Hating his job. Hating ThugU. Hating his broadcast partner. It was awesome! And then the second half happened and all the sudden he didn't want to be at the lake fishing anymore. Funny shite. I almost wish we would get creamed by Texas St just to hear chuck barrett's uptight arse bitch.

I'm worried Tony's best days are behind him. That injury last year at the Bama game was too much to overcome.

Not quite. We jumped out to a 21-0 lead on Alabama back in 1989 only to lose 62-27. I figured you would have heard about that one.
