gee man, if any team can get 2 things in order they have a shot. if a team can just get their hitting and pitching in order.......

State could make it to Omaha but I don't see the pitching for them to win it
Pitching is definitely more of an issue than in year's past. But our offense is absolutely crushing it right now. They're hot at the right time. They'll go as far as the bats take them.

I just think it's tough relying on one guy so much, even a guy as good as rooker, the way you guys seem to. The year we had benintendi we also had a good defense good starting pitching and a great closer

I don't think they'd let us in even with a ticket.

At least y'all have made to Omaha.
And one of only 7 SEC teams to make it to NC game/series.

Realistically none of them. but if i were betting I would say LSU and Arky... auburn is overrated and MSU took 2 of 3 from South Carolina on the road... not sure they have what it takes. MsState may not have enough players to field a team by the end of the season if things keep going the way they have been

Member when Fresno won the CWS? Light hitting UCLA? There are at least ten SEC teams that could win the CWS. The most important thing is getting to the postseason.

they altered the balls since that UCLA v State series (those balls had higher seams and didn't go as far)... they are more hitter friendly since that UCLA team won. That isn't an excuse for my bulldogs but it is a fact that changes the dynamics of how the game is played. Power hitting teams have a little more advantage and they can carry a team just a little further with this ball.

Auburn really has potential to do damage if they can get to Omaha.
Those 2 starters in that giant ballpark?

We definitely don't have the pitching to win the 4,000 1-0 games you have to win in Omaha to win the CWS, and our hitting is not going to fuel any wild and crazy back and forth 2-1 slugfests against CWS pitching.
with TDA we do. Our starting pitching has given up homeruns, something that you won't see in Omaha to the extent you do in the regular season. For the first time in awhile, we have three dependable starters and a few solid arms out of the bullpen. We have played great defense and honestly the style of offense we have caters to a better transition into how you have to play at TDA. Our biggest obstacle would be getting there. Lange has been Jekyll and Hyde the past two seasons, and Poche has struggled his last few starts. If one of those two has a bad start in regional play, then we're in trouble.

Hot at the right time is not in mid April fwiw. It's certainly not bad to be be playing well in April, but "hot at the right time" is getting hot right before the postseason begins. Hot at the right time is what Coastal did last year. After getting swept by Ga tech in Mid April, they closed out the season going 24-3. Swept through the Big South Tournament, Went on the road to national seed NC State and won that regional, swept LSU on the road, and then came out the losers bracket in the CWS to win.

We won't even sniff Omaha this year unless by some miracle we get hot and stay hot
Posted on 4/19/17 at 3:58 pm to yatesdog38
A Virginia team that hit about .270 has won it since the new ball. The point is almost every team in the league is good enough if they get hot and get a few breaks fall right.

State don't have the pitching to win the CWS.

It sounds great when you say it that way. The truth is that lsu doesn't have team like it had in championship seasons. Seen too many of them and know what they look like.
