Nice to forget the women…
8 / 18 Tennessee
0 / 5 Georgia
0 / 5 LSU
0 / 3 Auburn
0 / 1 Alabama
0 / 1 Arkansas
0 / 1 South Carolina
1 / 1 Texas A&M
0 / 1 Vanderbilt
36 Final Fours and 64.29% of the conference represented, name me another conference with better numbers.
Ole Miss has 8 Sweet Sixteens and 5 Elite Eights
Kentucky has 7 Sweet Sixteens and 4 Elite Eights
Florida has 2 Sweet Sixteens and 1 Elite Eight
Mississippi State has 2 Sweet Sixteens
Missouri has 2 Sweet Sixteens

Mizz has never made the final four? I thought we brought them in for basketball.
Apparently we brought them in for rastlin' only.

So, tell me again why Missouri has a better basketball tradition than Arkansas, Florida, and LSU.

Interesting thread. To me it kind of shows how bad the SEC is in basketball. I mean, only Kentucky, Florida, LSU, and Arkansas have any kind of history of success and accomplishments at all(obviously Kentucky is on another planet than the other 3,) and LSU and Arkansas have been mediocre at best recently. Kentucky's back must hurt from carrying the rest of the conference, but even with them, the SEC is very mediocre in basketball. It's a shame because the conference so strong in football and baseball.
I get what you're saying, but has the Pac 12, Big 12 and Big 10 been any better historically in basketball than the SEC ??? (from top to bottom)
Pac 12: Historically - UCLA. Period. Maybe occasionally Arizona, Stanford and Oregon State. More recently - Oregon, maybe Utah.
Big 12: Historically - Kansas. Period. Maybe Oklahoma, Okla. State, occasionally Texas, Mizzou.
Big 10: Historically - Indiana. Period. Maybe occasionally Michigan, Michigan State, Ohio State.
SEC: Historically - Kentucky. Period. Maybe Florida and Arkansas, and occasionally Vandy, LSU, Bama, UT.
Conversely,
In football -
The SEC has the 'Big 6' (Alabama most prominently)
plus newcomers Mizzou and A&M
The Pac 12 has the 'Big 4' (USC most prominently) plus newcomers Utah and Colorado.
The Big 12 has the 'Big 4' (OU, Neb most prominent) plus newcomer Texas.
The Big 10 has the 'Big 4' (tOSU, Mich most prom) plus newcomer Penn State.
