Alabama, Tennessee, and Auburn have all made the Elite 8 just once.

Damn. South Carolina, Ole Miss , and Auburn don't even make the OP's list. That's okay. They're forgettable.

I'm embarrassed anytime an LSU fan posts an Aggy thread on a day they beat us. You just can't mock a school on a day they beat you.

Interesting thread. To me it kind of shows how bad the SEC is in basketball. I mean, only Kentucky, Florida, LSU, and Arkansas have any kind of history of success and accomplishments at all(obviously Kentucky is on another planet than the other 3,) and LSU and Arkansas have been mediocre at best recently.
Kentucky's back must hurt from carrying the rest of the conference, but even with them, the SEC is very mediocre in basketball. It's a shame because the conference so strong in football and baseball.

And you didn't include us because you're a Yankee sumbitch with a program that doesn't belong in the SEC.

We've made the Elite 8 once in six tries from the Sweet 16. It was 1965, with our AA player Clyde Lee leading the way. Went 15-1 in the SEC, getting an automatic tourney berth, and lost to eventual national runner-up Michigan 87-85.

With any other fan base, I would normally agree.

However, with aggie, you have to approach their breed differently. They can be difficult to combat

Eta: I see this thread as a makeshift pacifier

Is L5U the most underachieving basketball program in the history of the sport?

No problem. If you want to make it up to us, do the list in reverse alphabetical order. I'm tired of being last just because old Cornelius Vanderbilt was stupid enough to have a last name that started with 'V' instead of 'A'. I sometimes fantasize about how much better off we would be if we were founded by a family named "Aaron."

I understand your sentiment

I don't enjoy clicking drop down boxes. The first thing you see is Alabama

Then you know our pain. And we have to go through all of y'all. Do you know how awful it is to be reminded that UT exists every time I scroll through a list of SEC teams? It's like being reminded that Ebola still lurks at the edges of civilization. Some might argue that's a bit over-dramatic, but they're the sort of people who think Ebola is a good thing. They're probably nose-pickers too.

(My apologies to Prof. Collateral damage. Couldn't be avoided.)

Good question. It depends on what you actually consider quote on quote - 'underachieving'

LSU finished 3rd in conference play with the 11th ranked basketball budget. In regards to ROI, wouldn't you consider that overachieving?
