You realize the 2nd WILL NOT happen without the first right? Les Miles has and always will cherish the I formation power run game. The game plan that did jack shite against Mississippi State was the EXACT same game plan they used against Auburn last night. As long as Miles is at LSU, we'll runt the same 1970's offense and struggle at QB. He's too stubborn to admit he's wrong and change anything.

He will change your mind about him when he leaves and restores Michigan to being a national power.

even in a inferior conference les miles will crumble. The game has passed the retard up. I don't think michigan wants a 4-8 coach

He might do it in the Big 10 where he would be facing teams with the same offensive scheme. Things are changing in the SEC. Les needs a dominant defense for his style offense to work. LSU and Bama's teams were built to contend against each other over the past few years. But now both have to contend with other teams in the conference that are successful and those teams have different offensive schemes. They have to adapt and contend with those teams now also.

No les will not change. He rather pay homage to his dead coach than run out the spread. He recruits dual threat qbs and throws them in an offense not suited for their skills. He recruits talented WR and have them block or side on sideline for 1-2 WR sets. Dude doesn't know how to utilize talent. We're in for a long fricking season with his stubborn and ego b1g philosophy. Same offense next week st UF. Every team in the sec has strategies to win.. Les doesn't and has no continencey plan. He threw in the towel last night like 1/9. Run game not working? Run more. Down by 20-30? Run more and chew up clock. He's a fricking moron and and his winning record is a reflection from the talent he recruits, not coach. You have it folks. We have a 4.3mil/year recruiter.

You're absolutely correct. It s sad when fans of other teams can clearly see it.

Gus did recruit Harris hard, and wanted him at Auburn. But Gus had no intention of playing Harris this year. Harris will be special but it won't be this season.

Les either needs an offensive philosophy change or he needs to stop recruiting duel threat qbs. Mettenberger did a great job but Les wants to keep recruiting guys like Sheppard.

True. But Harris would be a stud in a Malzahn's type offense in the future. I agree with you about Les recruiting dual-threat quarterbacks for his style of offense. It hasn't worked out. He needs to scrap the Power I or recruit the right quarterback. I don't think he will change to the read offense power spread.
Bear Bryant once scrapped an entire offensive scheme and brought in a new one and he had great success afterwards. As I said, Les better get his defense right again if he is too stubborn to change offensive schemes.

LSU doesn't need a coaching change. They need an offensive philosophy change. How well would Harris and their freshman running back be in a Malzahn type offense. Harris has a great arm and you have great receivers. There is a reason that Malzahn recruited Harris so hard. He would be a perfect quarterback for the read offense with the power running game like Malzahn deploys. College football is changing, change with it or you will be left behind.

Exactly the way most reasonable LSU fans see it AU86. Nice post.

Do you understand what you're saying here? "Les Miles needs to change his offensive philosophy".

Will ... NEVER ... happen.

Agree.

Most of the kids coming out of high school ran a spread.

LSU's offensive scheme is ancient.
