I doubt there are hotel rooms available if you're planning this as a last minute deal. So unless you plan on driving drunk from Starkville to West Point or Columbus, I would suggest staying home and enjoying it from the comfort of your home.

New BBQ restaurant downtown called Moe's. It will have a live band, great place to catch a meal and some drinks. Cotton District has 7 bars (Fountain Bar, Bin 612, Two Brothers, Gringos, Staggerin, Klass Room, Bulldog Burger all 50 yards of each other. Starkville nightlife turns it into a walking city, and MSU is a walking campus. Be sociable and you will have a great time. Most of the people that hate Starkville are the ones that come here with an opposing team agenda. They walk around and criticize everything and don't give anything a chance, so when they get home they say, "LOL Starkville is boring af, their people suck, everything sucks." I've hosted fans from all over the SEC including Ole Miss and all of them have had great things to say. All in all, you'll get out of it what you put in. It's not the Starkville of the past. Truth is, if you haven't been here in the past 5 years, you probably will hardly recognize the place.

How old are the people in your group? That's important when planning your trip this weekend.

Chain, started in Tuscaloosa. ACtually the first one was in Colorado, but the owners are Bama grads. They started out selling it at a gas station in Tuscaloosa.

Oh yeah, didn't mean to imply their food isn't good. It is. The wings there are phenomenal. Best thing they do.

Starkville:

Oxford:

Both are Mississippi college towns. I generally like Mississippi, given my East Texas roots, so to me, it seems like they are pretty much the same, no?

That ville looks pretty stark.

The Veranda is legit.

I know the guy who owns Restaurant Tyler from his failed restaurants in the Byram area. He's a fricking tool.

Well, there is the annual running of the bullfrogs where the streets are filled with bullfrogs and people run away from them. For you cyclist their is the annual Tour de Frank Street. For you party people there is the yearly week long festival of Marty's Grass where the town comes together to celebrate the best kept lawn in town.

My advice is to stay home.

This has the same scent of a certain 2008 game that ruined many an SEC fan for life.

Auburn3 - MSU2

What is seen cannot be un-seen

hahaha! your secondary is too horrible for that to happen. Don't worry.

If you're still looking for something to do, I'm planning on rolling a few yards. It's gonna be a blast in the city that never sleeps

Starkville has changed a lot in 20 years. The people mocking it have never been or not since they were 5 years old. Some really good food places there too. It's been growing fast with the new hotels etc.
