ETA the truth:
REC controlling everything is an old ITAT (Inside the Auburn Tigers) meme. The Auburn... fans... over there half-joke about the REC buying refs and paying players and controlling the state government and shite in a halfhearted attempt to legitimize their paranoia by name-dropping an actual organization.
When ATPB begun over here in 2010, a lot of us bammers would mention -- tongue-in-cheek -- that the REC was responsible for the investigation.
As you can see, there are escapees from the Tiger Rant of like mind to the boogs at ITAT; paranoid, conspiracy-minded and unwilling to allow LSU or its players to accept any personal responsibility. All they needed to know was that the REC existed and it was off to the races.
