Never made a Final Four and one Elite 8 appearance

Match-ups make a difference too:

Of Bama's 20 tournament losses, half (10) were eventual or current (UConn 04) elite 8 teams
Of those 10, 6 went to final four
Of those 6, 3 went on to win the NC

have been to Sweet 16 multiple times although it's been awhile....

It wasn't March if Alabama didn't make the Sweet16 then lose when Wimp was coaching

This would be funny if it wasn't so true.

Wimp was a fantastic coach, but he just couldn't break through that wall......

Making the tourney was a given under Wimp and Sweet 16 was expected. You're right he never could really break through....given some of the talent on those teams, Wimp did less with more than a lot of coaches had......

Boggles my mind that Alabama hasn't at least had ONE final four run. Hell even Georgia and Mississippi State have had at least one run to the final four, and Alabama has 3 more sweet 16 appearances than them combined.

Just looking over Bama's history in the tournament, they are notorious for dropping to lower seeds. Lamar in 1983; South Alabama in 1989; fricking Marymount in 1990 when Alabama beat #2 seed Arizona by 22; Kent State in 2002 . It's frustrating. But CAJ seems to be doing quite the opposite of what history indicates so far, so there is reason for optimism.
