I think it has to be Cam Newton. If he doesn't take the laptop, we probably win a few more titles and Meyer doesn't have esophageal spasms and is still coaching at UF.

The laptop and the cheating was too much rehab for UF. We had to farm that out to the highest bidder.

Honestly.......

*What if Arkansas holds on and beats Texas in 1969? Arkansas would have had 2 titles in 5 years.

*What if the AP hadn't have changed their title rules prior to 1965 season? Arkansas would have had back to back titles in 1964 and 1965.

*What if Frank Broyles did not run off Lou Holtz?

I got one for Arky

Petrino

had he stayed, they'd have at least 2 top 4 finishes in the west and easily a win at the Music City Bowl

I don't know if it's the biggest "what if", but I do wonder what if Herschel had come back for his 4th year.

Those are both big ifs...but not near the biggest. That is hands down this question:

What if, after the 1980 season, we had done what we should have done and Vince had walked off into the sunset (or just to the AD office) and we had hired Erk Russell?

This conference would be a VERY different place had that happened. One of the greatest coaches of all time.

Petrino isn't worth a what if.

He left our program is such a cluster it's not even been funny.

He did the same thing at Louisville and those idiots welcomed him back with open arms.

Considering I know who Bowden is and have no clue who Barfield is, I would say you are spot on.

There are a lot that come to mind. Some of the other Dawg fans have given good ones.

What if Tennessee drops that game to UK in 2007?

What if Mosley doesn't tip that ball in the 2012 SECCG?

I think for Auburn it was not hiring Bobby Bowden when Shug retired. At that time (1975), it was open knowledge that Bowden would have taken the job if offered.

Where are you getting this? Auburn would never have hired a former Bama player as head coach and doubtful he would have been interested. I do know Bowden wanted the Bama job in 1987 and sadly we went with Curry

What if Johnny Manziel had stayed and played his junior (and senior) season?

Followed closely by … What if Franchione hadn't ever … I don't know. Just hadn't ever been?

He signed a 10 year extention and then a year later dipped out to Atlanta. He did it the same way other coaches do. It is nothing like how he fricked over Arkansas...or the Falcons for that matter.

How about...what if Dickerson had gone to A&M after they bought him that gold car?

Every time you say this I think either:

B) an obese 45 year old man sitting in the dark on the couch behind the keyboard
