I think all you would have to do in order to figure out what is considered elite would be to take the top 10% of the guys with the fastest 40 times at the combine.

He'll probably be a 4.42 or something like that at the combine. First round pick for sure, maybe top 15 if he has a good year. That'll be two 1st round WR's out of Bama since 2011...wow, times are changing!

I don't know what elite speed is, but I do know Speedy Noil has it, and LSU doesn't.

Also, enjoy banland with Rick.

Are you implying that people will be banned for denying that a fair to good WR has elite speed?

If a true freshman TE (O.J. Howard) is faster than the entire LSU defense, it's safe to say Cooper is faster than any LSU player.

Coop consistently runs sub 4.4 times. The staff timed him at 4.38 during testing a while back. Will he run sub 4.4 official at the combine? Who knows? But no one doubts how good he is. His route running ability combined with his speed is something to be feared.

Cooper said Saturday he was clocked at times of 4.31, 4.35 and 4.38 when he ran the 40 after Alabama's Pro Day.

Not the greatest source. Until he's laser timed no one will really know.

For reference at how reliable college coach timed 40s are:

Elite speed= Jeryl Brazil kid has olympic type speed. Sad that he couldn't stay out trouble and lasted only half a year here.

Only remember 1. Just 6 of the 18-19 pts. Bama left on the field. Crying shame..
