I honestly didn't mean to stir up a bunch of smack talk by the question. Meant no disrespect to Bama in the OP--next year our first four or five games are likely to be less impressive opponents than Bama's this year, so we may be receiving some grief over that.
I think LSU's most impressive wins were Bama, Arky, and UGA; Bama for obvious reasons and the latter two because we overcame early leads that could have wilted a less talented and confident team.

You got a boost from playing Oregon in a kickoff game. Bama plays Michigan in that game at the Jerrydome to kick off 2012. We also played Clemson and VaTech to kick off 2 of the last three. I dont see why Alabama needs to apologize for their schecule. They kicked 11 teams rear ends. You play who's scheduled.

it was and sux, but hell even as LSU fans we gotta admit its the best possible game with the two best teams in college football.

Im not sure it's because they don't want a rematch (blah blah 9-6 is boring), I think it's because they are exhausted with the SEC dominance being rubbed in their face for most of the past decade

I would agree with this. Not much left besides R Kansas.
BTW: Penn St finished ranked 3rd in the Big 10 and ranked 22nd in the coaches poll.
