As far as the burner phones
What authority does the NCAA have that would give them the power to confiscate a damn cell phone?

Saban reporting us
Something happened with Bo Scarborough, I don't know where or how it originated but the NCAA was somehow involved or the kid wouldn't have been benched. Did the investigation turn up something on Bo? Does anyone know the details?

"Word" is he was paid to visit Ole Miss the last weekend before signing day. True or not, who knows but hence the four game suspension

The OP is a scholar and a gentleman. I will cast an upvote and only wish I could do more for you.

I will also twitter Ross and Hugh with our good fortune.

See they aren't saying the NCAA confiscated the phones but that Ole Miss gave out dozens and dozens of phones that could be traced back to Ole Miss to uncommitted players and they decided to hand them over to the NCAA.

If Bo is the NOA then I guess we were turned in but if his not in the NOA then there is nothing to it. They would not have something they have been investigating for 2 years and leave it out of a NOA. We will find out in under 30 days.

I doubt it. Ole Miss responds and then the NCAA will take their sweet time reviewing. I'm sure lawyers can make this take even longer. Unless both parties agree, I doubt we hear anything final before the start of the 2016 season.

That could be true about a final but I was just referring to Ole Miss response which Ross said would be made public. No will either be in the NOA or not. If his not in there then I can't see that the NCAA having anything on us with him since 2014 and not have it in there.

The whole burner phones thing was totally made up. I mean who would really think that a program was under investigation would be so bold to give recruits burner phones and atm cards for that matter? I hope the university of north Mississppi burns but i guess I just hoped it was true and I got some clicks on my website.

I really don't care what anyone thinks about what I have posted on this matter for months time to time and I can't tell you why and how I know what I know but anyone who thinks this is a little to do nothing is dead wrong. It does involve boosters and coaches and yes, some coaches previous. But there is a matter on how kids have been getting qualified going way back and it appears nothing has changed in that regard. That might be as big as anything as a long pattern of recruiting practices were established long before Freeze got there.
Ole Miss fans will ask me to give my source but I can't do that because I didn't ask to know what I know and it wouldn't be right to name anyone.
I will leave it at this, there is a family very very close to Ole Miss that are wealthy and have been supporting Ole Miss for a long time. The father of this family knows a lot and is close to one of my family members. He is one of the good guys and before this investigation ever got started he said he was livid about the gamble some UM boosters and ( ******) and (******) were conducting business to win at all cost. It's deeper than loaner cars and iphones, it's so out of hand that this is why I believe the investigation has taken so long and is still ongoing. It's a huge mess.
You have to understand more than the football program to fully understand how deep this got. The track and field and womens basketball scandals were just a sidenote of a much bigger problem that has been going on. Sure it's always easy to just fire coaches and wash your hands but the Ncaa apparently does not see it that way this time. And for the record, the basketball program might be next.

If this gets into mens basketball then Ole Miss is sunk. There are people already suggesting lack of institutional control. Ole Miss is lawyered up to the hilt right now but that does not impress nor scare the Ncaa. In fact, based on what I've seen with the Ncaa in previous scandals, they only take that as an insult and dig deeper. You are not going to beat the Ncaa if you make them mad. And right now, and as I stated several weeks ago the Ncaa was in my old home town interviewing despite Bjork claiming it was over tells me plenty.

I don't think the Ncaa has the authority to confiscate a personal cell phone. The only way I see the Ncaa with a player or recruits cell phone would be after interviews and telling that kid to come clean etc. Even then, it would be voluntarily handed over for a short time to pull helpful material towards an investigation. Which I'd like to say something about but can't. Ole Miss is lawyered up bigtime now and I doubt anyone is giving access from their Iphones to the Ncaa now.
